SIMPLE & FUNNY ! Simple and pure linear dungeon RPG. this game adopts the design of team share HP&MP, but each character in the squad still has its own position. Gears are so powerful, it's unbelievable I saw their attributes at first , reasonable build will make the game very easy. If you fail just add points then, the numerical growth is very brutal! With more animations and effects, the game will be great!
it is a good game, the combat system is good, the music is good and the sound effects are goofy but funny. It's a well rounded game, but it is very buggy. sometimes it works flawlessly, other times the game stops working past the fury boss and i have to restart. Just keep improving and don't give up on this because it can be really great.
It's suitable to play for a while after dinner, OG turn-based RPG. The game framework looks like it will be more dynamic on mobile plat. Expect richer random events and monster attacks.
Small game which is just really simple to play. You can technically finish the game in your first run which is quite nice change. Is challenging and fun, your next run is not based on anything that happened in the previous run.
Tower of Spirit is a work in progress at the time of writing, but already it features more creativity, style, and depth than 99% of finished roguelikes out there right now. If you're like me and are drawn to the game for its hand-drawn artstyle, I can promise you that the gameplay does not let it down, and it's only going to keep getting better.
Tower of Spirit is a new Turn-Based Combat Roguelike. There are many characters to choose from, and you start a run with your choice when you unlock a character with the currency shared between runs.
HP & MP
Health (HP) and mana (MP) are shared between the group, so drawing aggro with a high defense character is a must. This makes the game challenging but fun. MP is used for a character's unique abilities, like AOE damage or healing the group.
Emblems
Emblems give you a special bonus. Emblems cost EP, which is gained from events or leveling up.
Leveling
The most common way to level up is to get enough XP from winning combats. Random Encounters can sometimes let you level up too. When you level up, you are given a choice between three options raise max and gain that amount of HP, MP, or EP.
Gold
Gold is sometimes used in Random Encounters to buy things like relics or healing.
Random Encounters
Well, it is random what event will happen. It can feel as if you see the same Encounters repeatedly in the same order. But this is a game made by one person, so having a lot of events at this stage of this game is a lot to ask. I look forward to seeing what kinds of Encounters will be added in the future. The current Encounters are great, and there is a lot of dark humor.
Campfires
Campfires restore a random amount of health and mana and give you the option of equipping or changing your Emblems.
Art Style and Visuals
This game looks great. The hand-drawn art style fits and is done exceptionally well. I like the black and red color scheme for the victory and emblem menus.
Bosses and Beating a Run
Strategy is needed to beat a run. I have made it to the second boss and just got destroyed. That boss is not easy. It took me two runs to get down how the first boss works.
Steam Deck
I will update with my testing at a future date.
Overview
Overall, this game is an excellent Roguelike for the price. This is only in early access, too, so I bet there will be a lot of changes in the future before the game is fully released. Nice little roguelite with a lot of possibilities and tense turn based combats!
Game not playable on SteamDeck. You get to boss and cannot do anything... but exit game. :steamsad:
