This is an unofficial fan work produced under the Touhou Project fan content guidelines. Touhou Project is the property of Team Shanghai Alice / ZUN.
You are MINORIKO AKI, Symbol of Abundance, one of the eight million gods! The field for harvest gods is particularly competitive, so the amount of faith you've been able to scrape together has been modest at best. However, your time to shine is fast approaching!
Gensokyo is growing! As more gods and youkai take refuge from the outside world in this sealed-off fantasy land, more humans are needed to sustain them; thus, many big-name youkai are taking an extended vacation to give the Human Village some breathing room to grow.
This is a big opportunity to increase your popularity! Conspiring with the Moriya Shrine, you aim to help the village expand by supplying it with as many healthy crops as your divine, dirty little hands can cultivate. Time to get to work!
~
Minoriko's Homestead Harvest is a traditional farm sim set against the colorful backdrop of Touhou Project's Gensokyo. Rather than trying to split the difference between casual players and those that enjoy a time management challenge, it offers two gameplay modes:
In Casual Mode, you have as much time each day as you like, and you can play at your own pace to complete the game by meeting certain story objectives.
In Serious Mode, each day has a time limit, and you have two in-game years to reach your goal of gathering enough faith through Minoriko's farming operation. Some additional hurdles to make resource management more robust are added as well.
There's more to planning out your farm than just aesthetics! You can't walk through your crops after they've sprouted, so you'll need to plan their placement with care, but your tools can upgrade their area of effect in many ways to suit whatever layout you please. You can build terraces to grow rice and other aquatic crops, as well as lay out an irrigation system through hoses and sprinklers with a variety of patterns. Players that enjoy a light engineering challenge will find themselves at home here.
Various side sources of income such as fishing and mining are available, but if you want some real excitement, head into Youkai Mountain's adventure zones for some shooting action and loot!
Minoriko needs YOUR help to be Gensokyo's #1 harvest god! If you're interested in a new farm sim with a fun setting, check out Minoriko's Homestead Harvest today!

I've been keeping up with this game before it went into EA, but, due to Steam being problematic at the time, I could not pick it up. After those troubles have gone by, I've finally picked this game up during the Spring Sale. I love this game as a fan of Touhou, a fan of Stardew, and a fan of videogames. You've got these wonderful pixel environments, lively sprites of the characters in cutscenes and as they go about their business in the world, amazing jazzy renditions of several iconic Touhou songs, the characters convey expressions clearly in their portraits when you talk to them, and their dialogue is endlessly entertaining and comedic when it fits. When it comes to these creative fields; the crop harvest is ripe and rich. Maybe there could be more than 2 tracks per season. But, if there was, I wouldn't have been able to hear a cover of my favorite Touhou song in the summer as much as I did. None of the art or music ever got old to me. As a Touhou fan, this does the franchise due diligence in aspects the series is well-acclaimed for. P.S. I need to buy the music; OST pack one day? Maybe artbook too? I'll give you money for those things!!! 23.7 hours in over 3 days, I just reached Day 1 of Winter (which currently suffers from a lack of activities as a result of Early Action BUT THIS IS CLEARLY STATED IN THE DESCRIPTION). All the way to this point, from the start of Spring to the end of Autumn, I've never felt like I was bored or engaging in tedium or just suspect to poor RNG inclusions. There's a range of activities that kept me so busy, I didn't even feel the time pass by until it gets dark in the game and outside my window. From clearing out debris from my farm, planting my next batch of crops, tending to current crops, buying more seeds or an upgrade and planning it around my budget, adding more chickens to my coop, heading to the mines to get rocks and some precious metals, spending the day fishing, heading to an adventure zone for danmaku fights, scrounging around the world for foraged goods or the characters that populate the world so I can fulfill a request they have, give them a gift, or just talk to them; I could easily spend one day in the game doing about 75% of this casually on Serious Mode. And I know I haven't even really gotten into the depths of the micromanagement for farming because I'm just that dumb; don't tell anyone this but I accidentally planted 9 cranberries in a 5x5 terrace without any scythe magatama upgrades. Yet, I know that I didn't buy all those hoses and sprinklers for nothing; maxing out my Kappa Generator is my next goal. And this game does that to you: it keeps your attention, it encourages a constant pursuit of fulfilling one goal after the other in a way that stays fun while actually offering you meaningful progress and rewards. It's kept me busy, to say the least; I have been busy playing this and even busier enjoying and gushing about it to my friends. How is this game as a Touhou fan? I love Studio Hexeye's interpretations of the characters, both visually (spritework + portrait art) and personality-wise. A wide roster Touhou characters are in the game; from staple picks to the often-less-seen characters (some of which include my favorites). I praise the BUFF Yuugi inclusion, foxgirlfailure always-plotting-her-next-scam-and-scheme Tsukasa implementation, and the Urumi addition, who is actually slotted in a very fitting position. That's a cow-mama W. Many characters offer funny jokes, references for Touhou fans, and entertaining dialogue that made me smile or sometimes even laugh, something that I normally don't find myself doing even in games centered around amusing dialogue. You don't have to talk to them if you don't want to. You also don't have to eat delicious food, but you're not going to NOT do that because the hundreds, if not thousands, of lines of dialogue you get from talking to the characters when you just come across them or have an event are a treat. Not to throw other Touhou fangames under the bus; there's plenty of great ones out there, but many do not give you the wit or charm that a lot of the characters used in this fangame are oozing. If you aren't a Touhou fan, this game will make you one. OH, and my favorite part: CASUAL YURI. You can date several characters, some of which are rather underused in the community. I haven't reached this part yet, but, apparently, you can be polyamorous AND have your partner(s) move into your home. I'm glad that the game features a wide cast of characters, ranging from well-known and established characters to the lesser-known or not-as-popular characters because everyone needs to experience someone like the buff, fluff, stoic Momiji to the bottled anxiety moonrabbit girl Seiran. On top of being able to date several characters, there are also already relationships established between some of the characters, and they're expressed through some fun, sometimes slightly raunchy, dialogue and innuendos. I love playgirl Raiko, we need more of her. Also I think Yuugi might be genderfluid, I'm not sure; Yuugi's the best though. From the artstyle to the music, the environments and the interpretation of many of these characters, and all the minigames and management of time and resources; I can simply just say it's been a fun Touhou farmsim. But, to be honest, that doesn't do this game justice. This isn't just a regular farming game with Touhou slapped onto it, and it's not a cheap clone of Stardew Valley either. It cleverly uses the charm and beauty of Touhou, and it mixes the elements that come from the series into a farm-management game that, while maybe not as content heavy as Stardew Valley (naturally, one of these games has been out for a decade by now), is rich in the juice, the mojo, the vibes, the nouns that describe just how much of a fun experience this was for me. I already know I will be making another file once V.1.0 comes out (at the moment, this seems to be slated for full release before Summer; without a price increase too, which is insanely generous by the team), and I can be happy with V.1.0. I would also be delighted if, when V.1.0. comes out, we hear "work's not done, more stuff soon!" (though I will also understand if you, Studio Hexeye, will consider the game complete after V.1.0. beyond some bug fixes; btw I've only had like 1 inconsistency in the game and weird bug, I'll go to forums for more details). This message is for you, Studio Hexeye team! I also need Studio Hexeye to know that, despite you expressing that maybe that the Aki Sisters game might be better, you have something special here. Your game is more than good enough, it's great, it's amazing, and my gushing about your game to my friends has gotten some of them to wishlist it or to express great interest in it and Touhou as a whole. You have done the Touhou community a great service with your game, and, no matter what else is released, that can't be taken away, especially not from this Shinmy-sized Touhou fan writing this review. As you said, it will likely be a two-cakes situation. While I may eventually get two, I think it's going to take a lot to rip me away from this cake you've treated us all to (though I also hope you can reach out to the Aki-Sisters team and do a collab with them; that'd be fun, and, given their track record, very feasible). No matter what, I don't want you to think your game will be overshadowed because the other team is well known or anything like that. Your game is stellar; and that shines too bright to have a shadow. And I know it will only be brighter the more we close in to V.1.0. To wrap this up, I will simply tell you that, if you enjoy Touhou, Stardew Valley, farm-sims, yuri, charm and wit, videogames, fun, you just want to own property in a year like 2026, or you just need to escape this year, you will LOVE Touhou Farming ~ Minoriko's Homestead Harvest. Go find ya smooch in there, ya punks.

Very solid farm sim set in the Touhou universe. You play as Minoriko Aki, the harvest goddess of Autumn, and you don't have any sort of character customization like other games of the genre. The characters are charming, and come from most of the entire history of the Touhou Windows era up to Unconnected Marketeers. It's nice seeing some of the newer and less popular characters rather than just the EoSD, PCB, IN, and MoF cast without many more (even though I do prefer those casts, I like seeing more than just them!). Tsukasa is such a terrible irredeemable jerk and such a fun character to see. The farming is solid, terrace crops are a neat mechanic, the Kappa generator and irrigation system is different, if a bit frustrating to make a good layout. In serious mode pests and events like droughts are really frustrating, and you need to spend a lot of resource to mitigate them; in casual mode most of the frustrating aspects can be ignored. I like the way tools are handled too, no need to deal with toolbars, though it did take a little to get used to switching between inventory items (for gifts and quest turnins) and tools on the controller. I like that it decouples combat from mining. Mining is just a small bit of safe caves dug out by the centipede Momoyo, with respawning rocks; while combat is done via a very competent mix of shmup and twin-stick shooter. There is an adventure area for each season, giving you seeds, crops, and forage for each wave you complete. Then after 5 waves there's a boss with 2 non-spell and 2 spellcard attacks (so 4 total). The controls can be mapped independently from anything else which means you can set up adventures to work like you would a shmup and not have it impact normal farm gameplay. You get 3 bombs, which if you're solo I'd recommend using on the elite fairies that spawn at the end of the 3rd and 5th rounds. Then you can bomb one of the 4 attacks on the boss that you simply don't want to deal with. Overall it's pretty tough if you have no shmup experience, but if you can do late game easy or early to midgame normal on a mainline Touhou game, you can beat the adventures. There's no health bar, you use your stamina bar, so if you used up a bunch earlier doing watering or re-hoeing seed spots, make sure to eat something ahead of time to fill your stamina. You can't eat while inside the adventure, so prepare for it. If you struggle, once you get enough hearts with certain npc's, you can invite them to follow you around, and they can become allies in an adventure and add some not insignificant damage (especially Sakuya). If you win you also get a bunch of additional rewards including metal, tree sapling branches, or rare hats (which are used to provide temporary buffs to your farm on scarecrows, Minoriko has a nice hat already). Other creative aspects are the way fruit trees work, it takes 3 branches that you get from adventures or Chimata's black market (not guaranteed either place), and Yuuka can combine them into one tree using grafting. If you combine a Spring, Summer, and Autumn branch together it'll produce one of each fruit on it in ANY of those three seasons! It pays to plan ahead, and gives a bit more financial value to adventures if you're good enough to clear them every time. Cooking in general is not profitable, so aside from one particular Winter exclusive
Cirnomelons and shaved ice
, you'll only want to cook if you need a particular buff or need to fulfill a quest/request. The main quest is set up as a time limited set of objectives, somewhat like a classic Atelier game. You need to complete goals within a time limit and the next season you'll get a new objective. This occurs for two years. Note that seasons are 30 days, not 28, so the day of week is not consistent between seasons! Take this into consideration as vendors aren't open on Sundays. There's no time limit on casual mode, but you still get the objectives in the same structure. Serious mode you have the limits. I played on a Linux desktop and it worked perfectly, and would be a great SteamDeck game. Overall while still early access, this is a really solid title. There's not as much content as something like Stardew or Fields of Mistria, but it does a lot of good things and brings some new life to the genre with the way irrigation works. The adventures fit well with the setting, and as a fan of the shmup games are quite fun to do! The characters are fun, and I love the artwork. This is one of the cutest Sakuya's I've seen in a game, and Yuuka and Yuugi look appropriately intimidating. I also quite like this interpretation of Mystia, though she is quite different in appearance from my other favorite fan interpretation of Mystia (Mystia's Izakaya). It's also not complete so there's more content to come. If you like farm sims and like the Touhou setting it's well worth a play. Fans of farm sims who may not know the Touhou setting or don't play shmups may struggle with the adventures but aside from fruit trees there's nothing you can get in those that aren't easily available elsewhere.
A pretty cool farming game. Lots of nice inventory management options, which I always like. The fishing minigame is interesting and the farming systems are a bit more interesting than most. Art is pretty good and the writing/dialog is quite funny at times. The game is designed for use with a controller, so be prepared for a bit of a cumbersome time if you don't have one.
Have a bad luck to release close to the trailer of another minoriko farming game but his game is pretty good if you're a fan of old school harvestmoon-like and farming RPG game. The game mechanics really bring back memories, and I'm glad the developer didn't just copy Stardew Valley. The charactere diversity is good. Even though we still have the same boring characters from Touhou 6 through 10. I'm happy to see character like momoyo, seiran and misumaru have the spotlight they deserve. From what I can see so far, the characters seem to be portrayed wierdly. Too much shipping... and remilia leaving the day is weird. But explanation of their role in the game and why characters like Yuugi are in the Yokai Mountain makes sense. I can't wait to see what comes next!
Прикольная игра. Похожа на Stardew Valey
Simple, relaxing, and offers a variety of mini-games for you to enjoy.
Got this as a wishlist gift. Played about over a season, for the most part I don't have complaints, the only thing I would change is if you moved a tad bit faster, and make a focused shot speed a tad bit slower than the original speed in the Danmaku Zones. Aside from that, cute game, I enjoy.
Fun touhou themed farming game can't wait to see what else gets added.
This game feels really good. I can do what I want to do that day and change plans on a dime. The chicken gacha is really interesting, and I think it's a great way to include characters that otherwise wouldn't fit. The NPCs themselves are very well-written, and although there has been some repeated dialog, it was not annoying and this game is still in early access. It's pretty much the only farming sim I've played where I've felt a drive to play beyond the first season.
Hello everyone, John Review here! This game is a pretty solid blend of Touhou and Stardew Valley, so if you're into bullet hells and fishing minigames this is gonna go crazy for you. While not everything is here yet, what it has is incredibly solid and I will definitely be playing more now and when 1.0 hits! If I can remember to update this review once it's up, I'll probably do that! At the current point I've played at its current state of development, there is nothing I've disliked in playing! Though, if you're coming from Stardew Valley or games with similar mechanics, there are a couple of control and mechanic differences that you'd need to adjust to. Of note, to plant watercress you need to till the soil with your hammer instead of hoe, which I don't think is specified anywhere in the game (I could just be illiterate). Of the things I'm looking forward to, relationship building and dialogue expansion is at the top! I'm very fond of the Touhou characters present, some being familiar faces along with some that I find to be underrated! I am, however, upset Tsukasa isn't planned to be romanceable. My wife :( I'm happy with Mike at least :) Anywho I suck at bullet hells, buy bento boxes from Miracle Mart!
