Es dificil... y me encanta 💚
Piss poor and ugly to boot. No tactical upgrades, no tactical actions, no strategic upgrade, no fluff, nothing to make this game interesting. It doesn't even have a save function. Feels like about an hour spent making it, and even then they spent an extra ten minutes taking out any good stuff that accidentally got into it. Nine thumbs down, not even for free. Which this is.
"Tochos vs. Brokens" is a very barebones and pointless tower defense game with a meagre set of upgrades, units, activities, and well, a meagre set of everything really. Plus laughably poor and amateurish graphics and an equally weak technical delivery. What do you do in the game? It's a very barebones TD game where I think the developer put more effort into the backstory than the game. And the backstory is terrible, some faff about "Brokens" attacking you so you have to defend them with "Tochos", which got all my "Rumples" in a "Gobbit". Made up words don't make bad games better. The game lacks options for adjusting resolution, which means you can't ensure the game runs at your display's native resolution. This design choice may cause the visuals to appear less than optimal on just about every modern LCD/OLED display. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint tier "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. The deplorably bad visuals here come across as an insult to gamers. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Pass on this one. There's no immediate financial commitment, but there are thousands of more compelling games on the platform that will give you a lot more enjoyment for your time. Note: Joke reviews As usual, with some of the worst games on Steam, all the comedians come out of the woodwork. The vast majority of the reviews for this game are joke reviews, mocking the game for just how bad it is. The comedians give us the usual "this game cured my cancer, saved my marriage, changed my life" story... sarcastic, but not useful if you want to know if the game is worth it. Because most of the reviews are humorous but also insincere and not reflective of the actual quality of the product, the positive review score for this game should be taken with a grain of salt.
