About
In To the Stars Idle you take control of the primitive stone age tribe to build and develop your way into the future.
To progress, build new production chains, utilizing many resources. Each building consumes different resources to produce its output, so careful management is paramount. Starting with the basic Food, Wood and Stone, gradually advance to balancing up to 20 resources, each with their unique production chains.
Spend earned resources by researching new technologies, the more resources you produce, the more people you can assign to do research. Technologies allow you to advance through the eras, upgrade existing production and improve your military capabilities.
Finally, spend leftover resources to train up your military and attack neighbouring countries, to further upgrade your output with extra space as well as learn new methods of production from them. Battles are resolved in the autobattler fashion, where strengths and weaknesses of your units are clashing with those of your opponents.
Features:
8 eras to progress through, including, but not limited to, Stone Age, Medieval times, Age of Discovery, Modern Era and of cours distant future.
20 different resources to manage, each with dozens of unlockable production buildings.
Thousands technologies to research across all eras.
Intricate military system with 6 different unit classes, each represented by many types of soldiers relevant to their respective epoques.

The game is fun and engaging. If you buy it, you should expect a puzzle incremental rather than a pure incremental. You can't just increase everything as high as possible, as costs scale exponentially, so you need to increment gradually. However, the UI is atrocious. It is super annoying to use/navigate. Hopefully the dev addresses this.
TL;DR UI/UX is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but there's a game in here somewhere. I'll recommend if you: - Can play with a fixed window size of 1280x720 in year 2025. - Like to balance resources. - Like to scroll and expand/collapse never ending menus.

It's a nice idle game that requires strategic balance. It can be very addictive sometimes. I am enjoying seeing the numbers increase, unlocking new resources, and moving into a new era. I really like the concept of the game. Highly recommended!
kinda hate it but I keep playing so I guess its not that bad will prob rage quit soon enough when im tired of this hell of a UI
Released and immediately abandoned as there is no news, no patches, no nothing. I liked what I saw on the store page, the gameplay was another matter. I played it for 2 hours, I got nowhere. If a game doesn't keep a player interested, it's not worth playing. Frankly this game is boring. Dev needs to explain what's going on. Like how to at least get to the next age or not constantly be running out of food. Why penalize for using cooking? Every time I point a pop into cooking, my food consumption skyrocketed. It makes no sense. No matter how much I put into cooking and foods, I was always in the negatives and having to start over and over by freeing pops. At which point I got bored trying to find the perfect path that the dev want's everyone to follow and if you don't find that right path you won't get anywhere. I researched everything completely for the stone age and still couldn't balance my pop with food production. That's how bad the balancing in this game is. Why am I getting x amount of development per second? What does it do? Where do the points go? What are they for? Then when you run out of food, it immediately drops to 0. I can to play this game, not follow a specific invisible line with no variation allowed that only the dev knows. It's also missing a total resource info, you have to constantly be scrolling to see what resource has a short fall. Be prepared to restart over and over and over until you get bored and refund it. It's just not fun to play.
Nice idle game with good resource management feature.
Of note I have hundreds of hours in Kittens Game, CIFI, and Unnamed Space Idle. There is a good game in here somewhere but the UI is terrible. It also plays more like a puzzle game than a true incremental or idle game - There seems to only be one way of going about things. After hitting X pop you HAVE to research what the game wants you to or your people will start to starve. You HAVE to tech and build your armies in a certain way or the oversupply debuffs will penalize you.
I was addicted to this game on Android, and am playing through it a second time on Steam. It's probably one of my favorite idle/incremental games, and it falls somewhere between pure idle games where you just watch numbers go up, and puzzle games like Shark Incremental. At it's core, you buy things to make things and spend things to buy more things, but it also requires you to manage scaling efficiency of your production and reallocate production when needed. Blindly trying to max everything will result in runaway costs. It creates a very interesting gameplay loop where you'll change your production for different goals, though you can just idly stockpile and push your way through. On the downside, the UI is pretty terrible, and can be clunky even once you figure it out because there's not really a tutorial. I think a lot of the complaints about this game are because it really poorly explains how aggressively upkeep can scale with the number of producers. Overall, though, this is one of those "hidden gems" of incremental games, and includes enough fun, active gameplay it would be a bargain at twice the price.
