Tiny Bookshop

I was looking for a cosy game that wasn't overstimulating and gave me comfort and something to do during these rainy days. I adore this game! It's perfect! It's beautiful and I like that the characters have their own stories so you build a community over time. I love the seasonal changes and being able to decorate your little bookshop to fit the seasons. It's a simple but never boring game. I already can't stop playing it.

This game is great for players of all ages and skill levels. It's a cute little store sim where you can decorate your shop, interact with the towns folk (though only to a predetermined extent) and eventually [spoiler] expanding to a full shop [/spoiler] My number one complaint is that is is a little cumbersome (and time consuming) to decorate your trailer for every location (each location has a set type of book/s that sell better at that location, so you want to alter your decorations to boost the books that area is more likely to sell. I wish there was a save configuration feature per area in town, but there isn't, so I tend to find myself sticking to one area each season only moving for the weekly flee market which I'm sure slowed down me completing the story. Another complaint would be how picky some of the book requests can be, especially when you can't predetermine WHAT books (yes the type, but not the book titles) go on your shelves. Sometimes, even if it is the first request of the day, you just don't have a book that satisfies them. Also Fern, my love, expand your horizons, read something that isn't sci-fi, please, or at least ask me for a recommendation when I'm at an area that boosts fantasy books!

I wish I had the option for a neutral review, but since I don't.. It's very cute to look at, but it's a continuous, tedious loop and the requests from customers are often difficult to parse. Regardless of what the book is actually about or what the summary says, a lot of the criteria for meeting the brief seem extremely subjective. For example, if someone asks for a short book, I'm thinking 200 pages is short, and then the brainrot customer reacts as if I spit on their face for suggesting a book so *long.* Altogether, this game looks soothing, but in experience it can be frustrating.

CUUUUUTEEE, simple, and book recommendations are actual book titles! Playing this game, I compiled a list of books to read :) I'm not really a cozy gamer, but this is very enjoyable!
