This is so charming and so up my alley. This game was designed with me in mind. Holy moly, I played almost non-stop yesterday for hours and my kids were starting to worry. It's just so fun to see so many books that I have read or am familiar with as an avid reader of 250+ books/year. I especially love coming up with recommendations for patrons. Absolutely tickled.

Viel mehr als ein Managementspiel: Ein suchterzeugendes Story-Spiel und daher eine positive Überraschung! Das vermeintliche kleine Ladenverwaltungs-Simulation entführt in eine kleine Stadt am Atlantik, deren Bewohner man nach und nach besser kennenlernt und deren Leben man für einige Jahre begleitet. Man beeinflusst und unterstützt die Entwicklung der meist liebenswerten Einwohner mit Ideen, Büchern oder anderer Unterstützung, was tatsächlichen einen großen Teil des Antriebs im Spiel ausmacht. Letztlich löst man natürlich das große Geheimnis der Stadt der Buchliebhaber, welches eigentlich keins sein dürfte (Heiligsprechungsprozesse sind schon immer recht straff gewesen - geschenkt). Natürlich ist die gesamte Prämisse der unrealistische Traum eines jeden Buchhändlers: Eine Stadt deren Bürger soviel Second-Hand-Bücher am Tag kaufen, wie ein durchschnittlicher Europäer im Jahr liest; keine Konkurrenz durch Onlineshops, Buchketten oder Onlinemedien; keinerlei Ausgaben für Kost und Logis etc. Aber allein die liebevoll gestalteten Kurzinhaltsangaben für die Bücher, die zur Geltung kommen, wenn man ein Buch empfehlen will, zeigen das Engagement und die Bibliophilie der Programmierer. Mal wird nach dem 10. Band einer Serie JRR Martin gefragt, wann es weitergeht, oder wenn "Die Zeitung" in der "Verlorenen Ehre der Katharina Blum" recht eindeutig zugewiesen wird. Meist ist die Zuschreibung der Bücher logisch. Nur gelegentlich wundert man sich, wenn z. B. "die Känguru-Chroniken" auf Grund des Mangels an Tieren abgelehnt werden. Mir hat die bibliophile, progressive und positive Stimmung der Stadt durchaus gefallen; sie wird vermutlich jene abschrecken, die ohnehin keine Bücher mögen. Dank des Spiels denke ich sogar darüber nach, einige der Bücher, die vorgestellt wurden und die ich noch nicht gelesen habe, nachzuholen. Ein Spiel, das zum Lesen anregt. Das habe ich lange nicht mehr erlebt. Respekt!
This is the most wonderful game! A perfect combination of relaxing gameplay and also puzzles and side quests. So much fun and forces you to slow down a bit.
