This is the first part of at least two games apparently, though it's not advertised as such. You'll get an hour out of this one at the most. Poor value and a poor game. A 35/100 effort. [i]Time Machine - Find Objects. Hidden Pictures Game[/i] is a hidden object game developed and published by Crisp App Studio. You take on the role of Herbert Fink, a young scientist who has been summoned to the residence of his old professor, Charles Lewis. However, upon arriving at Lewis' residence, Herbert can't find any traces of the professor, so he decides to investigate the grounds and find out where (or when) he might be. (Well, since the title of this game contains the words "time machine", we can all surmise that the story is going to involve time travel. lol) As I don't wish to spoil more of the story, I'll end my synopsis here. As for the gameplay, there are several locations presented, and the main objective is to find the various objects that are listed. You can use power-ups like the hint button and a reveal-the-object function to see how certain objects might appear in shape. After you complete a location, you can replay it in order to get additional rewards, such as earning the maximum of three stars or obtaining all of the items in fewer than 45 seconds. There are no difficulty options, so you have to play at the default difficulty level. Although the game runs in full-screen mode with no option to switch it to windowed mode, I found that I was able to switch the screen to windowed mode by simply pressing Alt + Enter on my keyboard. Of course, sound and music levels can be adjusted. In addition, there are both Steam achievements and Steam trading cards. Now that I've gone over the story and gameplay, I'll move onto my thoughts. First, I like how there's actually a story presented here. I know that sounds strange, but with some of the games by Crisp App Studios that I played previously, there was no story. Thus, it's great that a story is present, and seeing that it's a mystery, I immediately knew that I would enjoy it, as I'm a big mystery fan. The story progression is great, and I like getting to follow Herbert as he goes about his investigation in search of the professor. I won't spoil the exact events with regards to the story's ending, but the fact that it leaves off on a cliffhanger makes me want a sequel. However, seeing that this game came out in January 2021 and there has been no news about a sequel, it looks like we might have to wait for quite a long while. :o As for the gameplay, I like how simple it is, with finding hidden object items. Of course, the faster you find the items, the more points you earn. I like how you can zoom in and out of locations and move from side-to-side and up-to-down to find objects. Most of the items are pretty easy to find although there are the occasional few that are camouflaged well. As for Steam achievements, I found them to be obtainable. I didn't encounter any issues with unlocking them. If I have to point out any technical issues, I mentioned earlier about the lack of windowed mode although I pointed out how that can be resolved. Still, it would have been nice for there to have been an options area to change the screen to windowed mode. In regards to the art, I like the style that is used here. The sprites and backgrounds feel very realistic, making you feel like you're a part of that time period. Colors are used well, never feeling overly bright. As for the music, I enjoyed listening to the tracks in this game. They give off that mystery vibe very well, which made it fun as I went about searching for all of those items. There isn't much variety in regards to the tracks, but seeing that the mystery theme is all encompassing, it doesn't feel necessary. Overall, would I recommend [i]Time Machine - Find Objects. Hidden Pictures Game[/i]? If you're looking for a short hidden object game to play with pretty obtainable Steam achievements, this is worth checking out. For the asking price, I think that this is a bit pricey, as I completed the game in fewer than two hours. (Also, I tend to play fairly slowly since I want to be thorough, both in regards to 100% completing a game and in writing up reviews.) This game is way too easy... None of the objects are actually HIDDEN. I wish there was an interactive element to the game... for example clicking to open a suitcase to find one of the items. But alas, all of the items are SO easy to find. This would be a good game for 12 and under maybe... but as a seasoned "Nancy Drewer" who has been conditioned to WORK for her clues this game is too simple.

Nach dem Spiel hatte ich den Eindruck, es sei eine Demo: Nach recht kurzer Zeit bricht es mitten im Geschehen ab. Das ist auch gut so, dann muss man nicht so lange leiden.

Not as good as any of the Artifex Mundi games. The only feature I enjoyed with it over other hidden object games I've played is that you have an option to see what the object is supposed to look like. This is useful when an object has had many forms throughout history, as it will show if you're looking for an early 1900's phone or a modern day phone. You can replay the puzzles for up to 4 prizes per puzzle if you achieve various goals, but there's no achievements or story purpose to do so. The story is underwhelming and may as well not be there.

I enjoy finding the items. Passes time, and I have fun!

It's nothing special (and the character artwork is a tad naff!), and goodness knows the plot is tissue paper thin, but the actual hidden object puzzles are.........well, decent enough I suppose, and the jazzy music isn't half bad. If you're expecting a lot of mini-games and all the bells and whistles from more robust hidden-object-games, then you're going to be disappointed; this is purely bare bones! However it comes with relatively easy achievements and trading cards, and (as I mentioned) the actual hidden object scenes are decent enough (and what else do you really want from an HOG anyway?!?!), so I can tepidly recommend this. It won't set the world on fire, but it's decent. Now, I'm going to idle this sucker for trading cards (the ~50 minutes is actual time to finish the game!).
