Time Commando

The year is 1996. I am 6. The disc for Time Commando comes free with Windows 95. I have never played a videogame before. My mind... is blown. Almost 30 years later, this game still goes hard. Soundtrack? Slaps. Stanley's skin-tight yellow future suit? Baller. Punching and kicking cavemen and Conquistadors to death? Absolute aces. I no longer have to call in my dad to play the level with the space zombies (because they don't scare the peepee outta me anymore), so that's a bonus. However, I do NOT remember this game being this difficult. Dark Souls? Don't know her

Time Commando foi um dos primeiros jogos de PC que tive, e o fator nostálgico me levou a comprá-lo e revivê-lo. Sendo um jogo de 1996, é possível que a galera mais nova não se interesse tanto por causa da jogabilidade mais lenta e dos gráficos antigos. Contudo, se você não se importar com esses detalhes, Time Commando é uma excelente escolha para passar o tempo.

This is the first video game I ever played, at about 3 years old. It came with the Windows 95 PC my parents bought. The purest of nostalgia. Only thing that is missing from the original is the narration from the opening scene, which is easily found on Youtube. If you're into retro gaming, its a good purchase at $6.

What a masterpiece. Even after all these years, I’m still in love with this game. Back in the days when there was no Half-Life 1, and John Carmack with id Software hadn’t released Quake 1 yet. Maybe back then, we were all wondering what could be more impressive and better than this game — little did we know, we were just 1-2 years away from having our minds blown by a new era of stunning full 3D games. I think Time Commando was one of the last great titles of the retro era. The music, game mechanics, and characters — fantastic. It’s a great example of what "game design" was back in the day. Actually, it’s even more like what "game design" truly is. Or rather, what it should be. I replayed this game in 2025 and finished it in three hours, yet I still enjoy it more than 90% of modern AAA titles. Stunning! P.S. — After all this time? — Always.

Juegazo del 96! Estos juegos viejos solo se entienden con el corazon. Es imposible esperar que compita con nada actual. De todas maneras me trae recuerdos de la infancia.

Talvez o jogo mais importante de PC que existe pra mim, já que foi o primeiro que pude jogar, e foi no laboratório de informática da escola, quando era tudo uma novidade absurda, mas mesmo depois de mais de 15 anos o jogo ainda têm qualidade, mas é bem limitado, porém um jogo bem desenvolvido pra época. Pros amantes dos jogos antigos de PC, esse representa bem uma parte do que foi o pilar de jogos numa época onde tudo isso começou. Recomendo.

Acá va mi experiencia jugándolo... Era un bello 2 de diciembre cuando empecé este juego. Sin conocerlo. A ciegas casi. Sólo sabía que era medio difícil por sus controles y me aventuré a ponerlo en HARD. A partir de esa decisión, casi inocente, empezó la tortura. [b] Este es el juego más hijo de re mil pu**s que jugué y que recuerde haber visto [/b] Había partes donde derrotabas a un enemigo difícil, donde estás trabado hace mucho, y luego de eso, te viene algo peor. Sin checkpoint previo ni nada. ARREGLATE COMO PUEDAS. Así fue todo el juego... Pasaba una parte hasta un checkpoint, pero ya sabía que lo que venía, iba a ser peor. Este fue el juego que más sufrí y creo que después de jugarlo tengo varias enfermedades nuevas en mi cuerpo. Horas y horas trabado en muchas partes, pero al final, siempre pude avanzar (no sé como) 3 meses de jugar a esto. 3 Meses de agonía... Hasta que, en la inolvidable noche del 12/03/2024, se me dió y pude completar esta desventura llamada Time Commando. Después de tanto tiempo con un juego, le agarrás cariño, y más si es un juego tan hijo de re mil pu**s como este. Sería una locura no recomendar este juego solo por ser así como es: Difícil y tan hijo de re mil pu**s.

This was my first childhood pc game. And now, playing it almost 30 years later I can say it aged VERY WELL. Can't believe they made this game so good far back then. Amazing creativity, 3D models, music, art, playability...they were ahead of their time. I love this game.
