Was pretty disappointed by this. "Cute and Cozy" is how this is advertised (through the dev spamming various subreddits) and this is absolutely shown through the art style and mini games, but it's really not the case. The animals are infected, so they all look messed up and sad. You enter an area where you find blood everywhere, and a decapitated deer and you have to return the corpse to it's mother, where all the animals gather to have a funeral. WHAT. I have played plenty of "cute and cozy" games that have strong dark themes, LOVE those especially, but this was weird and not at all how the game is advertised, and really did not fit the game, at all. I was really looking forward to playing a cute game as a little bunny collecting eggs and decorating them, while making friends and doing puzzles and exploring. Unfortunately, I was left feeling very frustrated for a number of reasons: Janky, clunky movement and platforming. There are sections where you are required to jump from wooden platforms to reach items. You cannot control the bunny in the air for micro adjustments. You have to commit, and because the turn radius of the bunny is so jank, it's a serious pain in the ass getting the line up correct - and even then, since you can't adjust midair, you often overshoot the platform. Invisible walls everywhere. So annoying. Encountered bugs immediately. Gave the fish his cave moss as he requested, but he kept asking if I'd found the cave moss yet, when I'd already given him some, and it wouldn't let me give him any more. I believed this soft locked me from progressing. I tried to continue playing anyways, and I could to a degree, but nothing was making sense. The dialogue from the NPC's are weird. They will ask for an item, you go and get or it craft it, and you give it to them and there's a sound effect, but no reward or dialogue in return. There are SO MANY TYPOS in the dialogue, like an absurd amount. Overall, I think this game missed the mark on "cute and cozy".
This game is uhhh. Wild. I don't even know where to start. The controls are ROUGH, laggy, janky and sometimes unresponsive. The visuals are not much better tbh. Also there's literally no tutorial or explanation of what you're doing or how to do it. The "Interact" button is not even mentioned in the Controls section. (It's F btw.) Also the vibes are....crazy. Selling this as a cute cozy game about making your woodland friends feel better with cute eggs and then sending you into a blood splattered camp to retrieve a mutilated corpse of an animal is unhinged. I was honestly not expecting that and I had to laugh at how incredibly out of pocket it was. The swamp is a whole mess. You die from touching the water, but the controls are so bad you can't reliably get out of the water so I died there like 4 times. I have no idea how you even get to the point of decorating the eggs honestly. Between the bad controls and totally bonkers "story", I just gave up. I've never asked for a refund on a game before, but I thought very hard about it. The fact that this got so many glowing reviews so quickly while being an entire mess is crazy to me. Are we even playing the same game?
TW for dead animals. There's nothing cozy or relaxing about this game. First off, this game has no controller support, and it has some incredibly aggravating platforming very early into the game. It expects you to not only make precise jumps over a swamp that does damage, but it wants you to make them on a diagonal. Again, there is no controller support. I had to stop playing not just from frustration but from hand pain as well. Not only that, but there's no checkpoint, and the rabbithole that leads to the swamp area requires some backtrackign to get to. I never even got to the part where you craft. Couldn't get past the blasted swamp. The music gets irritating after some time as well. Also not a fan of the game deciding early on to show you a dismembered deer. It's cartoony yeah, but that's not really the kind of thing you wanna see in a chill and cozy game.
The idea seems very cute—not really fleshed out well though and the controls are janky
Thrae is a fantastic game. Super cozy feel and plenty to do. Even when I haven't been following the main paths I've enjoyed just hopping around the world. Highly recommended!
This is a super cozy game where you guide a fiesty rabbit through an adventure. There are many friends to help and craft Easter eggs for as you travel around enjoying the beautiful landscape while collecting useful items and completing challenges. Very much worth purchasing, you'll love it.
The animals are cute, the art is gorgeous, the vibe is relaxing. I really love the rabbit and woody. Great game for all ages well worth the time and value for money.
Cute little cozy game about a rabbit and his big adventures. My personal favorite was pebbling on all my cute friends just so they knew i loved them.
Absolutely loving Thrae, just the right type of cozy I needed in a game right now! The music is so peaceful and calming, the artwork is just amazing and I love all the mini games. All round just the perfect cozy game. P.s had far to much fun pushing a ball round the beach : 10/10
It's fun! Very chill cozy game (but grr that swamp!), meet your woodland friends and help them. Cute art, a catchy tune that doesn't get in the way, and just the relaxing interlude I needed. Plenty of things to do as well. I've been bopping around for a while and still have more to do. If I, a grown man, find this fun and relaxing, pretty sure kids will too (although I'm a kid at heart).
