Reviews
*** This review is this games First Steam Review. *** I love the idea and concept of this game. Sadly, while there is quite a lot of "fun" to be had here, I just feel like this should have been released in "early access". ..It feels like an "early access" game here at launch, and in my opinion it still needs quite a lot of work to be all it can be. https://youtu.be/wNp9Kk5CEt8 Here are the things I feel need the most work, in order of importance: - The combat feels lackluster and just "not fun" at all. This needs to be much more responsive and needs to "feel" a lot better than it currently does. Right now, it just feels cheap and not well done. - The game needs a lot more "searchable" objects for supplies I feel like, instead of just giving you all the items as glowing objects so easily. - The characters needs MUCH more "backstory" and lore, especially if it's going to be promoted as a feature in the store page description. - Some people are likely to not like the graphics and heavy use of assets not "polished" or "pretty" enough for a $14 USD title. I don't have a problem with the graphics at all, but it just needs to be better done as in the first two items I mentioned above. In the end, if this game never gets another update to address the issues I mentioned above, I'd give this a 6 out of 10 score. I hope the developer takes my review to heart and makes changes I firmly believe are necessary to make this game better. It's a great foundation and I can definitely see a LOT of effort from the developer... it just needs more love & care to shine. RECOMMENDED.. if you can accept a less than perfect game like this and love games like "This War of Mine". You might want to wait for a few updates however to see if this developer cares enough to give it the love that it needs.
Nice game :)
Those Left Behind, immersing players in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by flesh-eating monsters. Players lead survivors who venture out nightly to scavenge for supplies, aiming to build a safe haven amidst escalating dangers. Pros: - Engaging Survival Mechanics: The game effectively combines base management with scavenging missions, requiring players to balance resource gathering and community building. - Diverse Weaponry: Players can utilize a variety of melee weapons and firearms, including axes, machetes, shotguns, and rifles, allowing for varied combat strategies. - Dynamic Environment: The game features a day-night cycle and weather system, adding layers of strategy as players navigate through different conditions. Cons: - Early Access Limitations: Despite being fully released, the game is presented as an Early Access title, containing rough edges and bugs that may affect gameplay. - Repetitive Gameplay: Some players may find the scavenging missions and combat encounters become repetitive over time, potentially diminishing long-term engagement. - Limited Narrative Depth: While survivors have backstories revealed through journal entries, the overall storyline may lack depth, leaving players desiring a more immersive narrative. In conclusion, "Those Left Behind" offers a promising blend of survival mechanics and action-horror elements. While it currently faces some limitations, ongoing improvements could enhance the overall experience. Score: 7 out of 10 scavenged supplies—A solid foundation with room for growth.
Pros: This game is genuinely scary and will have you jumping out of your seat a lot. Cons: The main drawback is the interface. You basically have to stand over an object and press 'e' to interact with something. It would be nice to be able pick things up just using the mouse. Also, there's no story to speak of; the challenge is to survive and collect items to build things that help you survive longer. There is no narrative other than that. So, I would recommend this game if you are just looking for a game that has jump scares a plenty and not overly concerned with story.
