I felt the stress and annoyance the protagonist probably was going through. "Honey, I'll change your diaper in a second, I'm killing some freaking zombies right now!" I was intially kinda mad since the first loop felt obscenely difficult and I didn't see a way to adjust the difficulty- until I learned you keep your stats whenever you die. I died enough times that it got easy. I really liked how the game was short and it didn't overstay its welcome. If maps were added- I feel like the core gameplay loop would get rather repetitive, so I'm glad at its length. I don't think the game has a ton of replayability, but I'm glad I played it.
I was looking online for another game like dome keeper and read a reddit post where the creator of this game posted about this game. Its similar to dome keeper in some ways and not at all. But its a fun defense game with a fun loop.
I quite enjoyed it. The only real complaint is how short it is, but for $3 it's hard to find much fault with that. I beat the game in an hour, then spent another two 100%'ing achievements and messing around.
Parents don't sleep. The game ain't kidding on that one.
Very good game that's fun to play with a Zombie situation. You have to take care of the baby, and your own needs (food, sleep, stress management, etc) while going out on runs for supplies and coming back to fix the car/boat. It's quite challenging, but when you die you go back in the Time Loop keeping your experience and skill levels which helps for the next Time Loop.
Nice little game refreshing to see something more geniune and wholesome rather than edgy or depressing.
เกมสนุกมากๆ โดยตัวเกมจะเป็นแนวบริหารจัดการ เอาตัวรอด และเลี้ยงลูก ซึ่งบอกเลยว่าบันเทิงมาก
This game is FANTASTIC for the price of $3. I got it on sale, and kinda wish I hadn't, simply because the developer deserves the full price of the game, and I'd be happy to pay it! I really like games that have some emotional weight to them, and this feels intense, as a single mother trying to care for her needs, her child, and survive waves of zombies It's hard, but the learning curve feels great, and doesn't take long. Also, the negative reviews are complaining that the game is too hard. In the settings you can change the rate at which you need to take care of needs, so that's not valid. Another complains that the main character is lesbian. I don't care what you think politically, if that's what keeps you from enjoying a game, that’s kinda weird and lame. What, did they want a trigger warning?
Good game with great gameplay loop, decent story but overall is a great short game that can be played for longer periods. The roguelike feature allows the game to have many different builds and even has a newgame+, I would recommend this game to anyone that loves tower defense and zombie survival games, give it a try, it's only $2!
A short, but intense and satisfying rougelite experience, They Don't Sleep casts you as the sole surviving parent of an infant child born into a zombie apocalypse. The initial plan is simple: survive long enough to repair your broken truck and escape to the coastline. Problem is, you're just a normal woman who knows how to use a gun and has to keep her child comfortable, clean, and fed, keep yourself comfortable and fed, and manage your supplies.... Fortunately for you and unfortunately for your character, tanking you or your baby's stats will merely reboot you to the beginning with your experiences intact. So you'll get stronger alongside getting better at managing your resources and time. Once you've escaped the nightmare, there's New Game+ mode if you want to continue the nightmare, plus multiple ways of making your experience more difficult, if not more interesting, including ditching the reboot mechanic for a true Roguelike experience.
