I think it's ok. It is kinda spooky including some puzzle solving here and there. Overall it's not that hard but you can get stuck at some specific parts.
''Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you'' - Matthew 7:7 Ryart has produced an intriguing, yet poignant, mystery point & click game that has Alice trying to solve what exactly happened in the last moments for her husband James, specifically why his last words to her were: 'he had something important to tell her'. It is this curiousity that torments Alice each night as she attempts to accept her loss yet she must attempt to investigate James' last actions before Alice is haunted beyond despair over his illogical end. The design behind this free to play has very stylish visuals, albeit darkened rooms due to the story taking place mostly through the night time but this is for brief moments as Alice's environment interactions are through moving around the screen with the mouse until the hand icon appears allowing you to turn on a lamp. From here you will be presented with room items that add scope to the story, at times you will also be presented with icons of feet or a door for movement within a room or to progress to another room to investigate. When that night's clues are discovered Alice returns to sleep until the next sleepless night prompts her to continue on - this occurs over 4-5 nights and, as the clues slowly slot together like a jigsaw, James' friend enters the story creating branching options that inevitably lead to 5 multiple choice endings. The 5 varying endings effectively present the scenarios of James' final demise from differing angles depending on the choices made and what I liked was that each scenario was believable from its own point of view attained from the clues & choices made. There are 2 puzzle moments early on that involve solving passwords but these are not too challenging then the remainder of this investigation is purely from the branching choices made. Halfway through, the player will be presented with a selection of choices to logically summarise the clues gathered & there will also be moments where you will have to react but if you choose poorly you will get to immediately replay that scene until you progress since there is no Game Over. The 5 endings are not difficult to work out and, with good use of game saves, the player can easily complete this in a much faster time than I had! As well as the visuals, there is an effective use of the music too with 3 short themes and a welcoming background ambience that I felt warms you to the story as you hunt around the apartment plus it had good use of dramatic sounds when tense events happened. The game can be saved at any moment before a choice but not during a multi-choice event, the main menu has direct choices of New Game, Load, Credits and Quit. As you reach each conclusion you are shown the ending scenario name after the credits and advised there are more paths to travel before attaining the bonus feature at the Main Menu screen. This bonus is something I hadn't seen used before, particularly in a Free to Play, so it was an enjoyable surprise. There are no Achievements currently though this can be down to low game plays and the full completion to this can easily be done within 90 minutes so it makes for a fun coffee break game in intervals. The design quality to this project is its main appeal and there are minor typos but nothing that causes any confusion in the story. Overall I'd recommend this as an interesting but short investigative game that isn't too challenging and has good logic to its multiple endings even when they become more obvious during replays it is still a satisfying experience. ~~~Liked what you see? 不知道那是什么国家的什么桥 然后猜不出密码 只能退出游戏了 什么鬼! What is this all about????? If you wanna tell a story, just tell it. Making those nonsense puzzle is really disgusting.
this is a amazing game that only takes like 2 hours to play there are a few endings some good some bad but in all realty this game deserves some time in the spotlight
Thank you for the nice free game ^^ Passwords were difficult ill admit that besides that whole game is really good i must say, story is entertaining and interesting and we love the fact that there are multiple endings. Making game so you get to have choice in your own actions is nice as well plus putting puzzle pieces together is real nice an entertaining point in game as well. First password hint is fine its basically a synonym but second i would make hint area larger if you know what i mean not giving it too much away. Thank you for game we did enjoy it indeed, shame it was a sad one that many tend to make lately. Good job, good work
The idea is good, but the choices are illogical. Because of this, the ending is random.
The 3 main problems I have with this game: 1. The game is extremely dark and unfortunately you can't adjust the brightness. Therefore, depending on how well your eyes can handle (or not) the darkness, the game can be VERY frustrating. I had to barricade my windows to even begin to see anything in the game. 2. The characters look like stock photos put through a filter. 3. The endings I reached are so weird and badly written, that I dont want to attempt to get the other ones. Overall, a nice concept but an execution that could have been much better in many aspects.
Great mystery game that is well worth 2 - 3 hours of your time depending on whether you are looking to unlock all endings. We discovered the true ending much later than the others, which made the experience even more rewarding. Bonus points for the heartwarming message from the developer once you have completed the game 100%. ryArt - keep up the good work, we are excited to see more from you.
Justice has been done, f*ck yeah!
Definitely, Mr. Lenard and I have a problem! You can't knock on the door when i just got sober XD By the way, great ambiance and music. Boo for Lenard, yay for emerging indie developers!
