Felky Fun Meter

|--------|--| [8/10] Very fun!
Being forced to multitask myself out of threatening scenarios felt super unique and special :D Despite having unconventional controls it doesn't get so complicated that it makes the gameplay frustrating and turns the game into a chore; so I had a good time playing and replaying the story ^^ The dark and creepy atmosphere really adds well to the cold and simple objective of killing or being killed. If you wonder how it feels to be trapped in a small room obeying the orders of a creepy disturbing voice; that's the game! :D
Their Navy Is Their Doom is a game that presents itself as a simple submarine battle game but is actually a slow burn cosmic horror. You control a submarine as you dive deeper and deeper to destroy your targets, but there is something else going on entirely. Fantastic little horror game with a great build up.
Very good and fun game I giga enjoyed it NVM DEV FIXED IT ignore what's below [strike] only complaint: maybe make the controls a bit more consistent? pls when you die some of the controls don't reset and made the experience a bit frustrating until I figured it out (you couldn't push the shields any way until you reset it to center) [/strike]
It is good and probably best game of the genre "you sit in a tiny vehicle and fiddle with controls" I've seen. It indeed can be completed in less then 50 minutes even with multply retries (I have skill issues). If you like the trailer and ok with short game then it's worth the time. I am surprised it has so little reviews :( My problems (spoilers) and critique:
1. Audio. It is good but not great. I can't say that anything at all sounds bad, it's just not very evocative and "serves its role". I would like to hear missle charges to scream as it is bursting with energy, the shield to hum and spark, the water outside to bubble, the tentacles to gulp, the missle launch to boil the water around the sub, you know? 2. Movement. I feel it's too finnicky to not being enable to stop easily. Acceleration in steps is fine, but it probably wouldn't hurt at all if to stop player could just put in to 1 gear and put acceleration to negative. 3. Radar. It's too white and to detailed. I think it should've been darker and more in aesthetics on real world radar displays (like in the movies...) or maybe some vector graphics, black and green, with enemies and missles being dots instead of icons. Just would be more evocative. 4. Missle. At least couple times I would see that missile is charged and bonked but I couldn't launch it. It feels like I charged it to 99.9% instead of 100% but visually it is the same. Some sound or indicator would be nice. Chragin for a second more helped. 5. Death. Too easy to dies and such thing always break immersion a bit. Last boss has multiple lives, so maybe player could have at least 2? With sparks and screechings after losing health.
That's all! With some polish I could see it being a bit of a bigger game (watch out for Planetenverteidigungskanonenkommandant release, it could start the whole genre!).
Had a blast.. Fun game
This game is what happens if Iron Lung was morphing into Planetenverteidigungskanonenkommandant but stopped in the middle
Game itself is fun but i have a problem that my fps is capped at 18 and theres no settings in which i could change that, plus looking around files i couldnt find anything tied to it pls help UPDATE: With the new patch its fixed
very poor optimization, but a great idea
Before I say anything, I just want to mention that this game is very good. I enjoy claustrophobic experiences like "Iron Lung," and this game is the closest thing you could get. So, here we go. I played the game till the end and wanted to see the other ending. I was a little confused when I saw that the gameplay videos on YouTube were very different. Then I read the latest patch notes. I think the developer has fixed a lot of problems, and the game is much more enjoyable now with improved pacing and other enhancements. I just have one critique: controlling the submarine is very fun but sometimes tedious, at least for me. Losing the game and being obligated to restart the entire level is very frustrating in my opinion. It breaks the pacing, especially in the last part. Maybe a checkpoint after killing an enemy in the level could improve the pacing and make the gameplay less annoying. I say this because i'm not very keen to replay all the game for just another ending. Maybe the possibility of choosing the level after ending the game the first time could help. But apart from that, as I said, it's a very good game for a fair price. Good job.
