STOP KILLING GAMES
For so many years despite it's age and limitations, it was the best of the best hunting simulation. So what's the issue? I played the game from the yearly stages and played majority of my hours years before I migrated into steam so that steam counter doesn't tell the real figures. Anyway I'm also being one those who have spent like +1000 euros on it supporting the developer and publisher. This has been the most expensive game I've ever personally actively played so it doesn't feel good when the developer spent all that money giving birth to two games that never answered to the wishes for realistic theHunter 2.0 that I too hoped for. The COTW was semi-ok but never more than arcade shooting game with animals to reach masses in hopes for ever bigger revenues. I tried to love it so hard and again supported buying new dlc's up to certain point when I gave up on the game all together, finding the classic still more enjoyable. The Angler... That was 100% waste of resources, some of us tried to say that it can't reach big return of investments as it can't compete with hardcore fishing sims built with completely different business model, and it's left with relatively small target audience. But it was okay, we still had the good old Classic...wait... If the decision to pull the plug on the classic goes into action and we all lose every single cent of money we invested into on this game, I will personally have to boycott the publisher and developer for the rest of my life, giving a penny to the same developer would go strongly against my own morale at that point. I and thousands of others have supported and stayed on board through many disappointments but there is a limit of how deep you can push the knife into the people who financially allowed you to build your company and where you are today. If maximizing the profits looks like a winning long term strategy, you may still end up losing a huge portion of your lifelong customer base with broken trust that will affect all future sales negatively. I will not say this thing has become a scam but when you think about it on different angles, thousands of customers paid hundreds, thousands and some even +10k euros/dollars on this thing, and in the end we are now left without anything we invested into. Someone else could see that ethically wrong or even call it being scammed. Can we get our money back if you terminate the product we paid for? Can I get my 1000e back if you think it's okay to take the money and terminate the ability to use the product we paid for? All I can say, hope the developer understands the damage they are doing to themselves too. You guys will lose a lifetime supporters and will show all your customers what the ethics and morale of this developer/publisher has become. If there is a will, there is way. It's up to the developer if they choose the money and run away, or really wan't to find ways to keep the classic alive. Release the core stuff as open source for volunteers to take over instead of killing everything? I understand it will 100% mean losing lot of functions and probably needs changing all licensed gun etc names to generic stuff and what not, but nothing is impossible unless you guys really wan't to kill the game and shoot yourself in the leg by eliminating thousands of long time supporters, who also were potential future customers. Just a food for thought. Lastly the game itself? Like said, despite it's age, it's absolutely fantastic slower pace and more realism oriented hunting sim, despite it's age and limitations of the game engine it's still one of the best, and personally I'd still take this over the COTW any day of the week. We WERE still happy to at least have the original game to play but in a brief moment we will lose everything we ever invested for, beginning from +15 years ago. That gives a bitter end to what once was the best gaming experiences and memories I've personally ever had. It would be an "okay loss" if the money spent were like 30-50e instead of +1000e, or even +10000e (yes that is +10k) like some have. Sorry for the rant... I feel so bad for so many others too, perhaps the publisher alone knows how much money it made with us and our support especially on the golden years when we had monthly subscriptions and single weapons or items costing more than some other video games do. It was worth it as not many of us ever thought that this game could just completely cease to exist with every player's +15 years of history and statistics when the developer decides to terminate our ability to use what we paid for. Better luck next time & thanks for payi...playing!

Love this game hate to see it go
I think this is a fantastic hunting game—it’s the one that started it all—and it’s incredible that, despite being so old, it’s still so good and is still being updated.
good
Game is not good. I could not even get a chance to paly it as the home screen was broken, and there's no way to make an account. You can try the website but there you can only login not register. If you try registering in the game it does not work.
Quando comparado a outros títulos do gênero, como Way of the Hunter, o Classic continua apresentando vantagens importantes. Outro fator frequentemente subestimado é a comunidade.
