TL;DR - Unpolished game, poor mechanics, do not waste your time. Holycrap, where do I start with this mess? On the surface, this game appears really promising. The store page really sold me. The video looked interesting, the gameplay didn't seem original but atleast looked fun -- for $1.79 at 40% off, it was an easy decision. But a bad one. Lets start with the sound. The game advises you in the intro to wear headphones to better hear the midgets you need to avoid, but the bass gameside is cranked up so far that trying to hear anything ingame is impossible. I use G930's, and even with the bass turned into THE NEGATIVE, the crackling audio made the game nearly unbearable to play. I don't think it would matter anyway; from what I COULD hear of the midgets, it was very faint, if it was really what I heard at all. The bit of voiceacting that is in the beginning is cringeworthy, but this being an indie title it's expected. There are no options for the game whatsoever. The 'Options' menu (if this were a face to face conversation, I would be quotation marks on my fingers when I say options) consists of a fullscreen toggle, a tutorial (which I'll get to), and a button to get back to the main menu. That's it. No sound options, no resolution options (which didn't correctly scale to my monitor), no control options. It's very barebones, and looks unfinished. There is a How To Play readme in the game that skims over what you need to do, but besides for letting you know that CTRL is to search, doesn't tell you which buttons trigger which actions; for a game that uses the Z button to toggle your flashlight, it could use more of an explantion. Then there's the tutorial, which by every defintion is broken. It spawns you in a small room and tells you to search for a key to unlock the door. Only there's one problem: there's nothing to search. The only thing you can interact with is the door, which is unlocked by the way, and using it brings you back to the main menu. Very informative. The gameplay is very stale. You wander through rooms searching random tables, drawers, and bookshelves. There's a searchbar that slowly fills as you hold the CTRL button, but here's the kicker: another bar will flash on screen a few times while you're searching, and if you don't press the use key (A on my Steam controller, no idea what it is on the keyboard) at the exact right time (and this thing FLIES by, even on the lowest difficulty), your knocked out of your search and have to start it over again. If the 'search skill bar' was slower it would be tolerable, but as it's designed now it's just annoying. After you've failed enough searches, the lights go off and you're left in complete darkness. Once you figure out Z toggles your flashlight, you can shine it to the left or right (and up or down; four different directions in total!) but you cannot move while you're using it, so you're left fumbling through the dark, occasionally toggling the switch of your dying flashlight, trying to stay away from midgets you can barely hear while searching through things that rarely have anything in them. Yeah, its as dull as it sounds. Overall, I couldn't recommend this game under any circumstances. Heed my warning! If this game looks interesting, follow it to see if they update it to fix these glaring issues, but as it sits, it's not fun and in someways, unplayable. 3/10 -- wouldnt refund again I will update if anything is changed
Details

A horror game that is an affront only due to its own laziness.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=966193458 I don't mind the 'controversial' content; but frustrated that someone would put so much effort into a game then not bother to finish it. DO NOT BUY: IT ONLY HAS 3 MINUTES GAMEPLAY! Game cannot be completed. Author has admitted to me that this is the case in an email. Have reported to Steam to takedown until fixed, but they cannot. so now it is down to you: BOYCOTT THIS GAME. AVOID. NOT EVEN BAD-ITS-FUN. Games like this killed greenlight, so while authors post games like this and then refuse to fix citing poverty (meanwhile taking your money) it kills the industry! Content-wise, yeah it's waht it is, but it's the lack of love for the game that galls: HEY AUTHOR - 'FINISH THE GAME' and STOP COMPLAINING THAT YOU EXPECTED THIS GAME TO MAKE YOU MILLIONS! I do sympathise, but at least release a patch that fixes the game so it can be finished - hell, even a video walkthrough of how to reach those 6 endings would be cool! but NO! So if he don;t care, and despite the fact the game was written for his then-pregnant girlfriend (buy flowers next time!) he still will not return to finish it.

Summary

AVOID! UNFINISHED. UNPLAYABLE. UNLOVED. Broken, unfinished, unloved, mercenary, wilfully provocative and ultimately unredeemable.
Pros: - interesting angle, evokes a lo-fi horror of the VHS era Cons: - does not work (critical bugs) - plays badly (unituitive, not fun) - developer admits is no longer supporting this, acknowleges the bugs yet still happy to make a few hundred dollars from sales each time there's a Steam sale. - Steam won't remove this app https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1748246555

See Also...
https://store.steampowered.com/app/43000
All boyflea reviews can be found at Good Indie Free Game Reviews
"YOU FOUND NOTHING." Just like how you won't find any redeeming qualities out of this game, other than the B movie style poster on the store page, which was actually what sold me on this in the first place. Unpolished, unfinished, ugly as sin, and confusing as hell to play. Edit: Shoutout to Dan Avidan of GameGrumps for reading this review of the game during their Halloween episode! Sorry you guys glitched out on the tutorial, but it made for entertaining material at the very least.
Remember any of the crazy "midget"-themed horror movies of the late 70s, like David Cronenberg's "The Brood" and Don Coscarelli's "Phantasm"? Nope. Didn't think you would. But apparently the dev of this thoroughly loopy game does. Unfortunately, he seems to have overlooked the fact that those films, however ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy, actually had PLOTS to speak of... Horror games frequently get derided for being little more than "key-finding" games. The Youthdrainers takes that phenomenon to new heights. Quite literally, the only thing that you appear to do (at least as far as I humoured the game) is search a room for a key, go through a door, and immediately start searching for a key to the NEXT door. That's it. And if you take too long searching, the lights go out, and you have to use your flashlight to keep the "evil midgets" at bay. Sounds easy enough, though, right? First problem: your topless bimbo character apparently can't work out how to shine a flashlight and walk at the same time. In order to look around for a power box to switch the lights back on, you have to SWITCH OFF YOUR FLASHLIGHT and walk around in the dark, making you vulnerable to imminent midget molestation. Second problem: searching. In order to examine bookshelves, etc, you have to hold down Control while a bar slowly fills up. So far, so standard. But the dev apparently thought this would be much too easy on us all, and therefore added a randomly-appearing quick-time mechanic which requires you to pounce on the Space bar quicker than a cheetah pouncing on its prey. I think I may have FLUKED these "skill checks" once or twice, but there certainly wasn't any "skill" involved, I can promise you that. Ten out of ten for originality and a shameless lack of political correctness, minus nine for an almost total absence of enjoyable gameplay...and ♥♥♥♥ it, I'll be generous, and award another point back for the fact of it being genuinely spooky when the lights go out and the little people come for you. Oh, and the Store page artwork is evidently groovy, but since that's not technically part of the game, the below Verdict stands, I'm afraid. Hands-down, the LEAST fun you will ever have whilst looking at a pair of jiggling boobies. Verdict: 2/10.
Interesting how I got banned for posting this in their forums: "Maybe Rotten Tomatoes needs a section dedicated to computer games." Evilized Productions, you guys are a real class act. I actually bought the game to see how bad it really was reported to be. Cons: 1. I could use the mouse to move the mouse cursor all over the menu screen but left click did NOTHING. 2. Selecting a menu item was done on accident by pressing the space bar. 3. Immediate full top nudity of a main character who actually looks like a 14 year old girl. 4. Controls cannot be changed. 5. Cannot use ESC (like any other game I have played) to get to the main menu. 6. It cost $3.00 more than it should have. Pros: 1. It only cost me $3.00 for a day (getting a refund) to make a comment they could not censor. This is an excellent example of a green lit game that should have been red lit. In fact they should make a new feature in Steam. I will call it the "Evilized Productions" feature in honor of these people who thought they could make a quick buck. If a game receieves enough thumbs down it is demoted to the 'bargain bin'. The Bargain Bin is just as it sounds. You ever been to Walmart and you see a bin with $1 games in it mixed in with garbage and candy wrappers? This is where this game belongs. Additionally, game companies that automatically ban anyone criticizing comments on the Steam forums too frequently should have their banning abilities taken from them. I came to this when I opened Steam: http://toltrin.blogspot.com/2016/09/bad-steam-games-do-this-all-time.html Look on the hilarious Crowding.com ebegging failure: http://www.crowding.io/project/the-youthdrainers-canceled/e838b150faf4ec66a1de0aef7ae0381b So where did they turn to for a quick buck? Steam! I have no idea how they got this green lit but I seriously think that Steam is broken now if this made it to my "featured" front page. Hell, they didn't even list this game under their own website! http://www.evilizedproductions.com/games.html [Correction: they do now but not in 2016] Look, Ben Aprigliano (he's actually in the credits), I see that you graduated from the prestegious Graphic Lyceum Utrecht in the Netherlands, but you seriously must have been super hard up for a job when you decided to put your name to this steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥.
i have played some truly terrible things in my life, up to and including ride to hell: retribution TO COMPLETION, but this one truly takes the cake. i don't know if it was the audio that sounded like someone was swallowing a microphone while riding a bicycle, or if it was the control scheme that was obviously designed by a toddler, but i lasted about 15 minutes. if that. also, seriously, why is she topless? 48 out of 55 people that i polled have deemed this the worst game ever. congratulations!
Warum oben ohne? Weil... is halt so.
Wertung:
3/10 Atmosphäre 1/10 Story 3/10 Grafik 4/10 Sound 1/10 Spielmechanik 1/10 Balancing 1/10 Spielspass
Fazit:
Ostfriesenzwerge-Müll mit oben ohne bleibt Ostfriesenzwerge-Müll. what the ♥♥♥♥ is this piece of ♥♥♥♥
ctrl 开门,按住 搜索。进度条的时候快速按下,可以不熄灯。万一熄灯了,可以找配电柜送电。 Z 手电筒,↑←→↓控制方向。 说实话,一次道具都没搜到。 CTRL open, hold to search. If the progress bar is pressed quickly, the lights will not turn off . In case the lights out, you can find the distribution cabinet to send electricity. Z flashlight, the up / down left and right control direction. To tell you the truth, none of the props were found.
This is not really a game. It has potential. I don't recommend it because it doesn't seem like it would be worth it for a while. The search bar in game is WAY TOO fast. The only woman is hard to look at. The gameplay makes no sense.
