The Wilting Amaranth

Giving this game a go was actually pretty worthwhile. You may call the graphics crude, at some point merely more than a sketch (but the cute chibi illustrations make up for it), and the music had some kinda repetitive tones to it. BUT! This game has a HUGE amount of endings and you'll never quite know which path you're on since betrayal and unforeseen events happen at every corner. The two non-player characters are certainly uniquely designed and have depth to them which immensely changes depending on your choices. At the end, you'll probably [spoiler]hate Priya and have fallen madly in love with Isolde[/spoiler], and I got the hunch that's what the designers tried to lead you towards. Just be advised that you're not going to encouter lots of actual [i]romance[/i] in this game; it rather excels in depicting angsty, socially troublesome behavior and trying to cope with that. The way in which the protagonists are uncertain about pretty much every feeling they have is a fresh take on the genre. The Wilting Amaranth won't be the brightest star in your collection, but I believe most fans of our beloved yuri genre will be able to enjoy this cute little game.

The story can go in pretty drastically different ways, including some heart-wrenching options. I still had fun though. The romance (correct) route was really sweet and I enjoyed the art style. <3
