It may become much better in the long run, but initial part is very off the pace, UI is barebones and even at that clunky, and even the gameplay split strangely between management (which in CYOA usually means not following optimal path resulting in 'bad' ending) and the story, which just doesnt work for me. May revisit some time down the road, but for now it goes on the shelf.
this interactive fiction was an absolute masterpiece. if you are looking to subdue that Queen (or King) itch, i highly recommend this game!
Lotsa characters, plot and worldbuilding, and it feels grounded. Just wish there was more!

A good Game with a compelling story, but it trys a little to hard to be Game of thrones. Unlike other Games of this kind, it comes with a build-in cheat funktion to experiment.
This game felt pretty good, I look forward to the sequel! (Pros) * Enough interesting decisions to feel fun, good, and like you were ruling your land. * Along with some very fun twists and climaxes. * Love that it didn't fully shy away from adult concepts (wouldn't mind more of that). Cons * The save system could've used work (there's a point where a Lot of stuff happens and you really really wanna save after it aaaand nope, its a few dozen more pages later that you finally get to save again). * There's a bit of grind in places (but you can hold court for some fun decisions in there) * The romance side was kinda meh - really fun scenes but felt like they could've used more of them. (and more options to stretch out past them afterward, especially since the spouse doesn't seem too antagonistic toward your er... extracurricular history) But overall yea, want to see more of these

Honestly surprised by this game, nowhere near perfect but definitely fun with interesting choices and fairly good characters. Love the setup for the next game and I'll be excited when it comes!
One of my favorites. The game is hard and unforgiving but also very enjoyable. The story is good and plot is deeper than most text base games I have ever played. The game-play also different than other CoG games, you as a player not only make choices on story, you also need to take care of your fief, manage your military, economy and politics. I recommend the game to any fantasy/medieval lovers.
Honestly a really enjoyable game. I am a big fan in strategy games, medieval games, and CYOA text based games. I saw a few reviews on Reddit about this games (r/choiceofgames) and they talked about how its a pleasant royalty medieval game. My first play through took me about 7 hours straight to read and go through the choices. There is a save and load feature, but I preferred to sort of iron man mode the game. The character creation and how you can make up your family's background is quite nice, I do wish there was a sibling option to spice up some game play, but it isn't game breaking, I would still play it regardless. I am currently doing a home-brew D&D with some friends, and as a dungeon master, I can see a lot of inspiration to take from this game and make it into my own. The random court encounters make the game a mystery and some are fairly easy to look past, but I always kept asking my in-game advisers for help in case I was unsure of my decisions. I heard there was a book 2 coming out, not sure when that is coming out, but the save system from this book to the next doesn't connect. The game said there will be an in depth detail when making your character in the second book, but if you're a forgetful person like me, don't fully end your play through so you can comeback to it whenever you want.
Great game and a lot longer than I expected! I would still prefer if it was longer or if there was a save option since I've done a few similar playthroughs just to see all the different endings. It's pretty cheap so you should try it out, at worst you'll lose 5 bucks. 10/10 would play again!
