Not bad for a game in its first week of Early Access. I'm hoping the character creator gets significantly better though as it's abysmal for a game so heavy into RP.
What a fun ride it's been so far, and it's barely been a week! The first Afrocentric MMORPG! It feels so nice to feel represented in an MMORPG. I'm normally a combat enthusiast in MMOs (the more grinding mobs, the better), but the combat portions of this game feel optional a lot of the time. The 'cozy' , life sim, community builder elements have kept me so occupied - I've barely had time to chase the thrill of the Hunt! I really didn't expect to enjoy the town/community building aspects of the game as much as I do. That being said, what combat I have engaged in (while a bit bare bones at the moment) is still pretty fun and interesting. I LOVE isometric, turn based RPGs , and having that sort of combat in an MMO is just *chef's kiss* to me! I can't wait to see how it continues to evolve. The game is sort of in 'beta' form, so keep that in mind while you're playing. But that offers a charm of its own - it feels like you are part of Wagadu's growth. Wagadu Chronicles (unofficially) works on Steam Deck. It's the way I play it primarily, and while it takes a bit of fiddling to find a controller layout that works for you (like almost any SD game does), you can play it pretty comfortably without a mouse and keyboard. (I did start off using them, and I use the keyboard when communicating a lot, so keep that in mind). The UI is not optimized for the SD's screen, so you will notice bits of info being cut off at the edges in some menus. It hasn't impeded my ability to play at all though. Can't wait to see more - I'll be around until the servers close permanently!

This is outrageous. This is not a PC game, let alone a proper MMO. This is a mobile game, with agressive microtransactions and a constant bright yellow "SHOP" button on the screen. You can even buy a premium subsciption for just 10€ a month! You know, after you just bought the game for 19,99 at the already discounted release! I was genuinely interested in an african-style MMO, but this is dispicable.
A unique MMO in a universe rich in interesting lore. This is a game that deserves the opportunity for more polish and it's fun to be part of the journey for that. The developers did a great job fostering a really nice and helpful community. My encounters with others were all really wholesome which I'm not used to in MMOs anymore. The fishing mini-game is lots of fun and there is a fun board-game you can play with others. The UI looks amazing, there is interesting variety in the biomes and foliage and the music is great. There are a few bugs I encountered and I think the gathering mechanic deserves some more polish. But the game is in early-access and definitely worth supporting. Excited to see where it goes!
Still in Early Access, but so far plays well. For those that are looking for a turn based tactical MMO, this games seems to be one. Also seems to have co-op. Plays well on the Steam Deck. 40 fps with only 6 TDP
Great start to this MMO. So far the devs have been quick with listening to the community and updating the game. I'm looking forward to playing more, and seeing where the game goes. Highly recommend jumping in early!
I have been looking for an MMO and was excited when this game was released in early access. I love the artwork and have enjoyed crafting and questing in a warm inviting environment. I will be watching very closely to see where this game goes, but you already have a fan in me!
As a Kickstarter backer, I can say I'm proud of Twin Drums getting to the point of releasing in early access, MMO's are incredibly hard to make. The reason I really pledged is because of the setting, and so far they're delivering on it with a unique lore and look. I'm usually not much of a crafter though and this game is a lot of it, at least for now. Looking forward to help improve the game for full release.
Still in rough shape, as it's super early access but the bones are good and I'm definitely interested to see where this goes.
