Unfortunately, this is not a game. I really wanted to play good crusader RTS, but I would say just play Ancestors Legacy. The fights boil down to quickly pressing your units specials and hoping something would happen. That would get me through most of the until one mission that is impossible to beat due to AI cheating, I have 6 units not being able to recruit more while AI can spawn unlimited number of units without any resources. I even didnt almost finished the first mission, just so frustrating and difficult.
Very nice RTS if you like campaign with a story. I beat the game on normal difficulty and like it, except several final missions. They are a bit too hard. The rest is very interesting and fun. I recommend this game if you want to play squad-based RTS and want to get a nice story with cut scenes
Not sure why the reviews are mixed, this is honestly a pretty decent game. Nothing special sure, but worth the money in my opinion. The tactics are difficult to master, graphics are good enough, and the story is decent and definitely has it's moments too. 7/10 game for me
за 40 минут игры она вылетела у меня без ошибок раз 10 на ютюбе перепробовал большинство возможных решений и ничего не помогло это единственная игра которая так вылетает у меня на ПК
A Solid Campaign … and Not Much Else

6/10 Crossbowmen Stack
I bought The Valiant because it felt like the closest thing to Ancestor’s Legacy I could get. And honestly? It’s … fine. Mostly because the campaign is actually pretty interesting and has a good amount of variety. Gameplay-wise, it feels like Ancestor’s Legacy, just a bit less advanced and less complicated in a lot of areas. That’s not automatically a bad thing. In fact, one upside is that the game puts much more focus on heroes. Unlike Ancestor’s Legacy, where heroes are mostly limited to campaign missions and you usually only get one, here they’re front and center, and you get several of them. That part I genuinely liked. The game is squad-based, missions can be fun (especially on Hard), and the campaign inventory system actually reminded me a bit of SpellForce 3, with how you build different unit compositions and gear out your heroes. ___ My issues are pretty much threefold. First, there’s almost no base building or unit management. No armor upgrades, no unit upgrades, no elite units, and no real incentive to keep squads alive. If a unit dies, you just remake it and it’s immediately as strong as the old one. Units feel extremely basic, there’s no civilization choice, and no real faction identity. Enemies might look different, but mechanically they’re almost identical to your own units. It all feels a bit too simplified. Second, the unit cap is incredibly frustrating. I wanted to build a proper army, ten squads at least, but even in the biggest missions you’re capped at around eight units total, including heroes. That often means something like four heroes and four basic squads, which just feels restrictive and disappointing. I think the squads could've at least been bigger, squads of 18 men would've made the fights look like a proper war, instead the squads are four men or eight men big. Third, the missions are painfully linear. No optional objectives, no side events, no alternative approaches. Most of the time, there’s really only one way to play a mission, and the only variation comes from which units you bring. Compared to other strategy games, that lack of flexibility really hurts replayability. They included a Challenge Mode, but it’s extremely basic. Most challenges are just big debuffs like “heroes can’t heal Fortitude” or similar modifiers. That kind of thing could have been fun, if the missions were more open-ended. But since they’re so linear, it just feels annoying instead of engaging. Multiplayer and Last Stand were probably my biggest letdowns. I expected access to all the cool campaign heroes, Ulrich, the Italian Captain, the Mountain King, and their factions like Crusaders or Barbarians, even if just for visuals and voice lines. Instead, you’re stuck with only a handful of basic campaign heroes, and not even all of them. It feels like they heavily skimmed content here. Did I enjoy the campaign? Yes. I had fun. Would I recommend it at full price? Probably not. I paid 5 euros, and for that price, the campaign alone was worth it, especially if you’re nostalgic for classic strategy games and mostly care about story-driven content. But outside of the campaign? I don’t think there’s much reason to keep playing. This is very much a “finish it once and never touch it again” kind of game. Overall, The Valiant could’ve been so much more, but it’s still enjoyable if you’re looking for about twenty hours of solid, story-focused strategy gameplay and don’t expect deep systems or long-term replayability.
This is a defect game. Even 1st campaign never starts and just freezing to death of loading the program. This is a shame on THQ Nordic staffs. Only a title movie can start perfectly, then freeze to death. I see several same comments on the message board and I am not the one to encounter this case.
