I played 10 more minutes just to be able to leave review. Tbh game is terrible. Only way to change anything is to click on it hundreds of times, everytime you move a cursor camera is rotating too, so you might end up in situation where background decorations hide the thing you want to click. Menu is not scaled correctly, so you hover over one thing and prompt shows description of another. every half minute you receive some random offer or donation. And I really mean random, you can receive offer to buy your 50k wood for 150 gold but you started 30s ago and you have 100 wood at best. Even for an idle game it's not worth it. And those all other positive reviews with minimum play time (for example praising almost nonexistant graphic) are making me think that this is scam and I need to scan my PC for some cryptominer. I'm going to return this and I advise you not to buy it
Warning: Broken Game! This game has design/implementation defects that will render this unplayable for many gamers. The game UI simply doesn't work, camera scrolling and panning doesn't work, you're stuck pivoting around a single tower and can't see the other game areas you need to interact with. It's clear no testing was done before this was rushed out to the paid Russian review farm to get fake reviews.
I'm not really sure if The Tower Of Babel is an asset flip. Some elements of this game certainly make it seem like the developer put some effort into assembling some kind of original here. On the other hand, a lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. There's no evidence, so we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself. This originates from a Russian review manipulator with tight links to other Russian asset flippers such as LTZInc and so on... and while reviews must be about the game, as this will be, it's important for gamers to know where games are from to better understand what they are. It's supposed to be a kind of resource management/city builder where you have to build the Tower of Babel. Whatever. Such a game could work if implemented well, but this wasn't (we can glean why from the developers shady background). As mentioned it's fundamentally broken and thus it's difficult to describe gameplay that can't be accessed. Despite not being in Steam Early Access (where this arguably belongs), the game is missing features and is apparently incomplete. Due to the lack of meaningful progress from the developer, it's unlikely the game will be completed at all, yet the developers reprehensively have their hand out for money for an incomplete game. This is a good reason for gamers to avoid this. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, and if you could even get it to work, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features lazy minimalist/untextured low-polygon "retro" assets and visuals, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the early 1990s. The lack of textures is a method that lazy devs often use to disguise their lack of talent/interest in doing the graphics properly and trying to disguise it under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the game. It looks bad as a result of their decisions, and that's just another reason to avoid it. Bewilderingly, the game doesn't include proper audio controls, so you can't turn off the annoying sound/background music, you'll need to alt+tab out and stop it using the Windows sound mixer. This is obviously not okay and it's unclear why the developers chose not to include this basic feature. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Because the game is broken and unplayable for me, it may also not work for other gamers. This is a solid reason to approach this game with some scepticism.
Warning: Review Manipulation! This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? The developer is deliberately and unethically trying to scam gamers into paying them the insane price of $6 USD for a game they know is broken. Don't give it to them. It's possible this price is either for the purpose of money laundering, or simply to prevent genuine reviews from reducing the fake "positive" review score from the fake reviews the developer paid for. Either way, this is unacceptable manipulation of the Steam store for profit. It's harmful to gamers and to genuine indie devs, because it gives indie devs a bad name.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
the save function is broken
This game is impressively bad. You start the game with very little idea of what you're actually supposed to do (aside from build the tower of babel, duh), it then becomes clear that the game is effectively an idle game, which isn't necessarily a bad thing... but in this case the game is also a bad idle game. The starting flow of income and resources is agonizingly slow, so the only input you give is effectively reassigning farmers and workers to other resource types. You start with nothing in most resources, including gold, yet are bombarded with requests to trade for amounts of resources you couldn't possibly have at the beginning of the games. Hundreds or thousands for units when you only have 2-3 workers and 2 farmers. There are 6 harvestable resources and handful farmable crops/foods, too, so even assuming you weren't harvesting them at a slow pace, the chances of you having gathered a particular resource are slim. The only way to get money as well is through trading resources through these random trade requests or donations, so not only is the resource gathering agonizingly slow, but yiou can't speed it up any for a ridiculous length of time. Even for an idle game, you have to have enough user interaction to actually get the player to want to interact with the game in the beginning, and this game effectively has none. All of this is on top of a rather terrible UI design both in terms of looks and functionality as it's fairly ugly and the actual buttons and tooltips do not line up with where they are visually. In short, the game is bad visually, mechanically, and in terms of quality. Normally I wouldn't bother returning a 5 dollar game, but in this case it's more a matter of principle than actually wanting the money back. I wouldn't even recommend this game if it were $0.99.
Broken Game

Don't waste You're time or money
I tried several different times to try and like the game but it's impossible. The save function for one is broken so you have to start over when it crashes or your done for the day. your constantly staring at one tower and cannot move from that position to be able to work the fields or do anything else. you can't scroll anywhere or move the cursor it's pretty annoying. clicked so many times I broke my mouse autoclicker came in handy on this. it seems like a cute little game but it's very evil I absolutely hate this game. I would recommend eating glass before playing this game it may have the same effect. but don't really eat glass because that would render you unplayable like this game.
I WISHLIST AND WATCH ALMOST EVERY CITY BUILDER I SEE BEFORE IT COMES OUT. IF YOU ARE EXPECTING A COLONY SIM OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT THIS ISNT IT, THIS GAME IS. THE GAME IS VERY CHILL AND GRAPHICS ARE OKAY. CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT THEY DO IN FUTURE WITH THIS WITH UPDATES
This is unplayable
Dont buy this
got this on a deep sale and it sounded interesting and i know im a softie i should have given it a thumbs down, after nearly 30 minutes i kinda stared getting a feel for how it goes i got to ten percent but yeah no save feature, hard to control or pick characters to tell them what to resource, just seemed like such a waste of time not to finish making a game that obviously some descent amount of time was spent creating in the first place, really a shame here
