Abandoned
Seems to be a common thing things these days but here's the sum of info at this point and time. 1) No game update for just about a year. 2) No progress reports like they used to on steam. 3) Any news that HAS been given was around September? of last year on their patreon supposedly. But anybody would to keep people paying money. They wouldn't be the first or the last to pull that. With that I don't recommend it. Will change this if dev proves me wrong.
This is a better AVN than most of them out there. Main reasons are; interesting story, good humor - will have you chucking to yourself quite a few times - better than average plot lines and pursuable, attractive characters. All of this incentivizes the player to read through it all and engage with the game. Lewd scenes are tasteful and just often enough to not turn this game into a pure porn game. The quality of renders and animations are, again, better than most of the AVN’s out there. The developers have been keeping an acceptable pace of delivering updates and they seem to have it together regarding the whole story where things are falling into their places nicely. This game also gives me the feeling that the developers do not take this game too seriously in a good way, therefore keeping it enjoyable and interesting. I highly recommend it and think this game needs the support of the players.
Good animations and sexy characters but too much dialog slows it down and make you want to "fast forward" to the good parts. Or maybe i"m just inpatient, Still worth a look though.
I gave it a thumbs up... Tentatively. Right now its at 3 stars but could easily drop. 4 chapters in and they haven't even begun the real story yet. The writers wanted the MC to get laid a few more times before he starts his journey. They spent an entire chapter on the travel from the MC's home village to a nearby village to catch a ride to the capital. The journey was supposed to be a "couple hours walk" but instead of that, the main characters decided to stay the night at a traveling merchant camp and no one questions why they are a full day late arriving at the town to catch a ride to the capital. The developer wastes a TON of time trying to make the back story more interesting and get the MC laid instead of making the main plot of the story itself more interesting. They drug out the prep for the journey and then rush through the "training" and I can only assume it is to make the story fit inside the number of designated chapters they planned. A few funny moments are not enough to change the current issue of wasted time in a story. If this keeps up, I will change it to a thumbs down.
"The Swordbearer" is an Adult Visual Novel (AVN) for those who don't mind getting a fairly-well-told story and having some erotic content added in the mix: A GOOD read! Is this a GREAT or OUTSTANDING READ? Well, it could be if the developers actually follow this up with its sequel and do so in a timely manner. But, as is, this is really a pretty good AVN, with a fairly-good amount of romantic "adult" relations sprinkled throughout its plot! The art is done really well! The HOT scenes are done really well, too--pretty arousing!! The soundtrack fits most of the AVN's artistic environment, the backdrops and the plot's mood are all fairly-well represented in both its artwork and the background music. It's not got a lot or much in animations, perhaps a little bit, but very basic, as far as it's lewd scenes are concerned. But, these HOT scenes are done well enough to be visually erotic and fairly arousing, so I guess you could say the artwork is exceptional when it comes to that! Because I bought this AVN while in its Early Access phase, I would say I recommend it, but as noted earlier, only if you're really into a long-winded tale. The script with regard to this AVN has been really well thought out, the characters are developed with some depth, and the plot's conflict-resolution offers the story a really interesting story, one I hope we'll actually see finished by these developers! If that happens, then I would probably "re-write" my review to not just RECOMMENDED, but "highly recommended!" It's just a shame though that most of us regular customers are having to "expect" all these Early Access AVNs to never come to completion! Unfortunately, that seems to be the case most of the time! At least that's been MY impression. Anyway, this story was enjoyable for a story full of "arousing relationships" set in a "Fantasy" type setting. You won't want to miss it, especially if the developers finish this with it's sequel!
Not enough lewd scenes. Its on chapter 9 and there has been 7 lewd scenes. The story isn't interesting enough for that. Especially since vampires appeared. It has lost my interest.
this looks abandoned by now. We had weekly updates and more than a year nothing. Don't buy
Seems to be abandoned now; it was a really good VN. Good story, decent scenes. It is still worth dropping a few eddies to play what there is so far.
the story is amazing kept me hooked all the way, i binged the whole thing in one sitting, my favourite character so far is the MC's best friend hes hilarious a loveable idiot, cant wait for more. I recommend if are on the fence its a nice medieval/action/fantasy/comedy/sex VN with beautiful women and animations
The story is interesting and seems like it would be great if it were ever finished. But it's been four years, so it's obvious that the dev isn't going to finish and is just enjoying the money. Art is good, animation is basically non-existent, models are decent but you'll notice certain ones reused through the game. My largest complaint is that the writing makes things feel slower and more tedious than it needs to. This isn't a slow storyline at all, but the dev felt the need to add a ♥♥♥♥ ton of character interactions that aren't needed and don't contribute to the storyline. It makes it feel like a bunch of people's diaries smashed together, instead of a well edited story. Can't recommend an abandoned game, but if you do buy wait for a 50% off sale.
