So I am starting rehab for a gaming addiction tomorrow and thought as my final game I should just boot up The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe to prepare for a "Super Go Outside" achievement when I hit my 10y sobriety. Of course my addicted ass commited to playing it for 5hrs straight only to find the game's object is to consistently slap me in my face with my own addiction and the complete and utter way gaming has me in its grip and is destroying my life. 10 / 10. But would never play again. The only true ending is pressing "Quit game".

stanley parable é um jogo que eu não tenho palavras para descrever, eu nunca joguei algo como ele antes, e acredito que nunca vou jogar, é extremamente complexo e profundo e posso dizer que é um jogo extremamente único com nada parecido no mercado, vale cada centavo

It's repetitive by nature with ever changing and supposedly provocative endings. I found it dull. The humor is the cheeky British type humor with comes off pretentious and cringey to me. I can totally see other people liking this game if that is your thing, but if it isn't, that's the whole game. Is it unique? Sure. Is it necessarily a game to avoid? No. I just can't see how anyone under 40 would like it.

"The Stanley Parable strives and then succeeds to be every game ever created" I don't think there's a better explanation to this game. The profoundness, the comedy and the social critique are perfectly balanced in a way that makes the player insatiable of the game itself. A game where choosing doesn't lead anywhere, and yet it leads to a new path every time. It always leaves that feeling of incompleteness every time you reach an "ending", reminding you that, in fact, the end is never the end.
