The Secret of Hutton Grammar School

[h1][b][u]BottomLine at the Top:[/u][/b][/h1] Very short game that has that classic style we all wish there were more of. [h1][b][u]Intro:[/u][/b][/h1] This game is incredibly short and I'm filling it out in my standard review template purely out of a deeply ingrained habit formed from 100+ P&C reviews. ------------------------------------- [h1][b][u]Pros:[/u][/b][/h1] ------------------------------------- -Starts right up despite being an AGS game -Has music -Brief but professional Voice Acting (Who I swear sounds like the YouTuber Oxhorn but is actually someone who's done a ton of other VA work.) -Some funny scenes. -Interestingly has a "listen" action but no "speak" action. Can't think of any P&C's I've played in the past off the top of my head that has this so I thought it was mildly interesting. -Despite this being a remake of a 90's AGI game, time was actually taken to animate a couple of detailed sprite animations. ------------------------------------- [h1][b][u]Meh...:[/u][/b][/h1] ------------------------------------- -A few incredibly minor errors (word not spoken by VA, certain icons end up performing the same action) -I'm normally not a big Steam achievements guy, but I found all but one in this game and it def bugged me enough to try an extra couple of minutes to find it. Didn't find it still, c'est la vie I guess. ------------------------------------- [h1][b][u]Cons:[/u][/b][/h1] ------------------------------------- -Very short! [h1][b][u]Final Thoughts:[/u][/b][/h1] This game shouldn't cost money, but actually paying for it is a nice way to support an indie developer who, based on my experience with this game, has some decent P&C design skills. I will def be checking out his newer game Feria d'Arles. All in all not too much to say about this one. This game is mostly for fans of the developer or those who have to play absolutely every P&C game ever made (Moi included). Really small game, but a funny one. I bought it mostly in order to support the developer. By the way, did I see Molly in the game or is it just my imagination? Anyway, keep it up, Tom Simpson.

[h1] Genre [/h1] Ein sehr Kurzes Pixel Point & Click Adventure [h1] Story [/h1] Wir spielen den Hausmeister und eines Abends beim durchqueren der Schule bekommen wir zufällig mit das es einen Geheimen Kult gibt, diesen wollen wir nun stoppen [h1] Gameplay [/h1] Das Spiel ist wirklich sehr sehr Kurz. Man kann es in 10-15 Minuten durchspielen. Wir haben 4 Aktionen (laufen, Packen, anschauen oder anhören). Diese Aktionen können wir bei verschiedenen Gegenständen in der Spielwelt einsetzen um mehr darüber zu Erfahren. Wir sammeln wie üblich Gegenstände und kombinieren diese um weiter zu kommen [h1] Achievements [/h1] Es gibt insgesamt 10 Erfolge. Einige sind nicht verpassbar, da sie Story basierend sind & die anderen sind Gameplay bezogen, wobei man etwas bestimmtes tun muss z.B. sich selbst anzünden usw. [h1] Pro/Contra [/h1] + Günstig + Sehr Einsteigerfreundlich (Für das Genre) + Humorvoll + Guter Sprecher + Nette Pixel Grafik + Achievements [h1] Fazit [/h1] Ein sehr gutes, kurzes Point & Click Adventure mit einem Guten Sprecher. This is a short adventure game with very nice pixelart graphics and pretty darn funny voice acting. Recommended.

I wasn't expecting much before i bought it, thinking it would be short, and unfortunately it was. The game has about 5 screens and 5 inventory items thus you won't get stuck, it takes about 15 minutes to 100% the game. It isn't bad nor is the game even expensive but there are many that give a lot more value for a buck, it just felt like a short flash game/demo, which is a shame as it could have been good. It would also be nice atleast to also give the option to play the EGA (Agi) version.

This is a lovely little inexpensive game that seems to have been originally made for a jam. The game can be completed in about thirty minutes, but I smiled the whole way through.

What a cute little game! Very short, but exellent in every other respect. Very consistent graphics, bold voice acting, lots of old-school humour and a nice plot. It even features a boss fight and Feria d’Arles cameo!

Nice little piece of a point&click adventure, putting you in the shoes of a high-school janitor that has to stop a mysterious cult taking root in his school (and can do it just under 20 minutes, including all achievements). This game can be a good start for players that haven’t played point&click adventures before and want to give them a try, for a small fee of 1 buck.

The puzzles were fine and so was the voice acting, but the game is over so quickly. It is a very bare bones product. Hope the creator makes a game that is at least a few hours long, because the potential is there.
