loved this game as a kid. this version wasnt very good from what i remember idk its been like a year since i touched it. found out they do NFTS now and their sandbox game is a huge NFT blockchain ♥♥♥♥ now so i uh..... yeah im deleting it ):
It is obvious that this was originally a mobile game, because it still plays and looks like one. The by far biggest issue I have with it is that the individual pixel size gets really big when you play this game on a large monitor, and from what I gathered, there is no way to stop it from launching in fullscreen. The issue with this is that it becomes nearly impossible for your eyes to see whatever the contraption they made in the different levels is supposed to be. It also just makes navigating the menu complicated as it is hard to see what the different buttons say. Beside this issue, it just isn't that fun. I used to play a lot of Powder Game when I was a kid and I feel like I know what I want when I decide to sit down and explore these games, and this just isn't it. It is really hard for me to explain why, but I think it is a mix of the available elements and the gameplay just not feeling that smooth. I also prefer to just have a plain black background, as it makes my strange creation more visible. I also heavily favor more element choices and different reactions over random objects and heavily animated special effects, like natural disasters. There unfortunately are not a lot of other options available here on Steam when it comes to games like these, but there are some that I can recommend over this, probably the best of the better alternatives being "The Powder Toy", which is free to play and the next best being "Sandboxels." _________________________________ Help me out by following my Curator, I’d really appreciate it!!
The one thing I enjoyed from the mobile version of this game was the Brainiac. It was a cool machine that you could control, it bound to other devices, and you could make really cool custom characters for game levels. It is not in this game If I am paying money for a free game, it should come with the entire game, not have these stupid dlcs tacked on later.
Do not waste your money on this.
I am genuinely disappointed about this game, This was a part of my childhood and finding out that it had a PC version I was interested in it I recently just bought it and.. it will load you into the games into, will let you make a laggon or whatever but when you go to the next day you cant do anything. it ask for a mobile input from what it seems even clicking does nothing
I really enjoyed this game on mobile like 12 years ago but this PC port is incredibly shoddy, maybe the most broken game I've ever paid money for. Very disappointing. I encountered lots of issues in only 6 minutes of gameplay before refunding an already dirt cheap game. Most crucially, the economy of the mana currency is completely out-of-whack. This PC edition of the game grants 50K mana upon first playing to circumvent the dropped freemium model in the transition from mobile to PC. On its own, this is a good thing even if the laziest possible solution to the problem, but almost anything one can buy with the mana is unlocked by default anyway in this PC version. In terms of buying things that affect the gameplay, one can use mana to skip missions just as they could in the mobile original, but they messed up bad in the implementation of this in a way that just screams feckless. In the original game, it costs 1.5K mana to skip a mission which would grant 1K back anyway for "finishing" the mission, so still a loss of 0.5K. In this game, it only costs 150 mana to skip but still grants 1K back, it is genuinely more efficient and profitable to the player to skip every mission the game has to offer, i.e. almost the entire game. The only other thing one can spend mana on is cosmetic tweaks I did not play long enough to find myself. Other than this bad omen, lots of more technical issues occurred in only 6 minutes of playtime. The game cannot be windowed without knowing to press F1 instinctively, gameplay sound effects will randomly play on menus if the window loses focus, text strings have missing value injections frequently, and the options menu has nothing beyond muting the music or sound effects uniquely. The whole thing feels incredibly slapdash and I would not even call it worth it for the ~£4 it costs, just play any number of free clones of this concept. I specifically wanted this game for its mission structure and as it stands one can skip every mission in the game because the developers didn't feel like doing subtraction.
achievements broken. game abandoned. rip.
fix the mobile version.
Broken game, does not work. All the guides trying to fix it don't work either. I really loved this game back when it released, and was finally so excited to have rediscovered it as an adult. Unfortunately, this issue has been around for the past 6 or 7 years but the developer has never fixed it. The APK still exists out there but due to the servers being down you'll never be able to play any of the "premium" levels.
dialogue bubbles are bugged. i cant click out of them, and they basically make the game unplayable.
i didnt mind the other users negative reviews thinking i could just refund it if it was that bad. you all know the ui glitches from the mobile version of the game and probably dont think it would matter for you, but drawing elements has that audio loop thing you like and probably seek, at the end of each audio loop it just lags for a sec. other than that, its not the latest version you got from mobile, for example, the arnold or brainiac campaigns dont exist. everything with audio lags, old version, too many random achievements. the game is something like if its developed by a kid. "the daily quest" thing was a level asking you to draw a rainbow with the gems, but no indication of background colors and expected you to follow your heart probably. (there is much gem styles that have color) (the order was not given) its odd. it has the nostalgia thing if you ever can ignore the ui issues and seams. but even so, its just an old versions port.
