A surprisingly fun old-school WWII shooter The Royal Marines Commando was honestly a very pleasant surprise for me. For an older game, it is really well optimised and runs extremely smoothly. I didn't experience any major performance problems, and the game feels responsive during combat. The gameplay is simple but very enjoyable. One thing I really liked is that it doesn't feel repetitive. The missions and different locations keep the game interesting, and I never really felt bored while playing. The gunplay is probably one of my favourite parts of the game. The weapons are cool, feel satisfying to use, and the combat itself is awesome. Fighting groups of enemies is fast, intense and just genuinely fun. The story takes place in 1941, during World War II. British intelligence discovers classified documents about a new deadly German weapon which could give Nazi Germany worldwide naval supremacy and a huge advantage over the Allies. Because of this, the Royal Marines Commandos are sent into action, taking part in missions across France, Africa, Scotland and Norway in an attempt to stop the German plans. The story is straightforward, but it fits the game perfectly and gives you a good reason to keep moving from mission to mission. It has that classic old-school WWII FPS feeling that I personally really enjoy. Overall, The Royal Marines Commando is a really fun game. Good optimisation, enjoyable and non-repetitive gameplay, cool weapons and awesome combat. If you enjoy older WWII shooters and classic FPS games, I definitely recommend giving it a try. 9/10 – Simple, fun and very enjoyable.
je to delsi nez CoD kampan takze za 5euro asi ok
For an obvious shovelware product, this game is pretty okay, sometime even fun to play. There are couple of areas that caused frustration, for example stealth and the time, when a pile close to the entrance prevented me from walking through until i crouched and pushed and pushed for 2 minutes, but otherwise it's playable enough and doesn't have any major bugs. Loved seeing resuded assets from other shovelware games made by this studio in the past and loved the tease for a sequel at the end, which obviously never came.
Salam. Bu oyunu 2011-2012 illərdə çox sayda (7-8 dəfə) oynayıb bitirmişəm. O, vaxt 1-2 günümü alırdı. Lakin oyunu 2025-ci il 19 oktyabr tarixində 13 ildən sonra oynadım və bitirdim. Oyun xatırladığım qədər yaxşı deyil. Bu günün oyunları ilə müqaisə etmirəm. Oyunu 1 dəfəyə cəmi 2 saata bitirdim. "Hard" olaraq seçim edib oynasazda ölmək çətindi. Mən ən yüksək çətinlikdə oynamağıma baxmayaraq 2-3 yerdə mənasız hərəkətlər edərək öldüm. Süni intellekt(AI) bərbad vəziyyətdədir. 1 yerdə BUG ilə qarşılaşdım və həmin bölümü ümumi olaraq yenidən oynadım. Oyunun mənim üçün dəyəri çox olasa da almaq istəyirsizsə məsləhət görə bilmirəm. Endirim zamanıdı bəlkə alım, oynayım deyə heç düşünməyin. Oyunu çox sevən biri olaraq deyirəm.
The Royal Marines Commando from City Interactive (2008) is a "classic" retro WW2 shooter that was definitely a budget title even when released new. There were only six missions total, and your 2 teammates were given unlimited resurrections to keep the plot going. Enemies follow fixed paths and spawn sites, and their only avoidance is they strafe side to side, and your weapons are not very accurate. Playing them in the 2020s (almost 2 decades later), they have very few redeeming qualities other than their subject matter: you play the Brits, not the Yanks. As the name suggests, you play the Royal Marines Commando, the elite of the British Royal Marines, and Churchill's favorite (Churchill borrowed the term 'Commando' from the Boers). The plot is vaguely fictional but plausible... Brits have captured a Kriegsmarine officer who may be the key to destroying the new Kriegsmarine U-boats that vastly outperform anything else with a new advanced fuel. But the Commando will have to raid various German bases, repel a German raiding team, and eventually, locate the U-boats and destroy them. However, the game's writers, being Polish, wasn't quite accurate in portraying British and German characters. As a result, the cutscenes feel a bit... Cartoonish, and the heroes sounds way too... John Wayne-ish, even though they are Brits (they do sound British, but the mannerisms are off). And the high echolon? The German Admiral and Winston Churchill? Too... Cartoonish for me. The game used the Lithtech Jupiter EX Engine, which is comparable to Quake and Unreal Engines of their time, and this version came out in 2005, though usually considered somewhat inferior to the big two. However, it does integrate quite a few features, including DX9 rendering as well as the Havok physics engine. So explosions in the game produce decent object fragmentation, flight, and bounce. Indeed, some classics, such as F.E.A.R., was created by Monolith (parent of LIthtech) with this engine. However, City Interactive did not spent too much time on the game, as they did not optimize the game for widescreen. Indeed, the highest "optimized" resolution for the game was 1440x1080, not the 16:9 1080p resolution of 1920x1080. The game will work in widescreen, but with non-square pixels so looks horizontally stretched. The characters animation and texture is tolerable for the time, but one can also see the FPS trend to go health pack-less... If you got wounded, simply find cover and rest for a few seconds to auto-heal. Add this to janky movement and aiming (where you can barely see the enemy over the muzzle flashes), combat feels like a matter of memorizing enemy pop-up patterns and stay in cover when possible. There was talk of "stealth", but with very few "silenced" weapons, and enemies scanning around them for threats, even behind them, sneaking up on enemies for silent kills is more luck than ninja. This is a SHOOTER, after all, despite the mission briefings often mention NOT "going loud", and indeed, there were a few enemies that you *should* kill silently, esp. on the only level where you do get to use the De Lisle Commando Carbine (a silenced single-shot carbine) All in all, this game is for nostalgia only. Save your money for true classics (Brothers in Arms series) , and modern revivals (COD WW2, perhaps).
游戏流程好短,炸个潜艇基地就戛然而止了,CI社制作一如既往的粗糙,很多场景都太黑了,开手电筒都难看到人,不过游戏还挺有意思,感觉有10%的老COD水平
This game was like... extremely short. Like I wasn't expecting it to be that short. Well at least the ragdolls were extremely funny. Also the game has this weird stuttering glitch sometimes where the game seemed to be confused on where I was and would freak out. Also the game is singleplayer only but if you press T on your keyboard it opens a Chat Box? For some reason? Weird Game
Definitely not a good game, but fun enough for the max two hours it lasts.
