The game immediately presents the player with a binary choice. To press the button and rebel, or to obey the command and not press the button. My initial thought was to reject the entire premise and merely observe. However, observation would be a form of inaction, which is in itself, a choice. It seems that the willful action of starting the game forces the player to choose subsequent actions, whichever they may be, and regardless of outcome, the button has invoked its existence onto the agency of the player. The button has won.
