Using patch: You're Shun Kousaka, a 2nd year transfer student to a new school where you'll learn the pleasures of a co-ed education, especially guided by 3rd year student, Mahiru. And, tennis is worked into the story, along with char siu, gyoza, and the sweet and sour smell of a girl (someone needed a lunch break). Ready?
First, adjust the BGM (Back Ground Music) setting lower. Other default sound settings are okay; however, you'll want to lower the music so you can hear the good kissing sounds when Mahiru gets going. Later, when the kissing evolves to more advanced forms of "kissing" the slurpy sounds become more like someone leaving the lid of the washing machine open - lots of sloshing around. Finally, in the most intense scenes in the Worst Ending scenarios, your dog may start howling - so, put the dog out.
Second, for the first three hours, prepare yourself for sweet, s-o-o-o-o sweet. And, cute, don't forget cute. And peppy - Mahiru has a lot of pep. I liked it all and the story moves along through a lot of lovey-dovey for the first 2.5 hours. Then as several reviewers have mentioned, hours 3+ are where the action starts (and you'll need to have the BGM adjustment ready).
Third, experience the different endings and meanings from Shun and Mahiru's point of view as their relationship evolves. After 3+ hours, a new character more clearly enters the story, Shimatsu, the corrupter. Save at stopping points where a decision is to be made then try the different choices.
Initial choices for first play-through are the shortest: 1) Good ending and life is good if Shun skips his Summer trip. 2) Other choice, Shun goes on his Summer trip with his family, he comes back and continues relationship with Mahiru but you can recognize that something is going on and Shun is oblivious. This is the okay ending where "what we don't know will not hurt us" rules. 3) After I sat for a while trying to figure out how to see the other endings, the ones that switch between Shun's and Mahiru's POV, I simply started a new game play-through and used the fast skip to advance to June 27. At that point a choice comes up for Mahiru to accept or reject Shimatsu's proposal; save here. A surprise here, what may be the riskiest choice presents possibly the best Good Ending. 4) The other choice, travel the haunted road with Shimazu at the center of all things (turn down the sound, put the dog out, take frequent breaks). Brutal.
Summary: Yes, it's worth the time to work through all scenarios. Future steps: be suspicious of someone that's too cute, watch for follow-up AVN's. perhaps titled "Shimatsu's Harem", where we meet his top-10 women-friends or "Return of Mahiru" where Mahiru is aging out and needs help raising and paying for all the kids that are missing their baby daddy and she hooks another person out of necessity and not out of love.
