The Qaedon Wars - The Story Begins

At a first Qaedon wars doesn't look very impressive, and it does suffer from it a bit. But if you don't mind that aspect, you'll find the game to be a good rpg experience. Definitely a good pick for fans of games like Age of Fear for example.

If graphics are important to you, you will probably be disappointed. But! If you can look past that, you will find a pretty great Strat/RPG here! So please come and partake of this goodness and support this Dev, so he can bring us more of his awesome jams! DO IT!

This is an interesting game. It is a combination of the old tabletop hex style tactics games like Starship Troopers and fantasy games like Dungeons and Dragons. It is quite challenging. I would call this a hardcore game. Much less of a generalist. I like it because it is very challenging. I have finished three campaigns so far in the last two days. It took me a little while to understand the mechanics. They should have a few lets play Youtube videos.

Fun indie game. Reminds me of a modern Fantasy General.

Desing and story telling concept just makes me lose my self in this game.

UPDATE - waiting to replenish your health is a must. I have replayed the 1st mission aboout 15 times. You cannot win. Its impossible. You start with random equipment and skills, you cannot guarantee getting an archer. So you just have tons of monsters and bad guys that destroy you and u dont have healing spells. You might have 3 clerics or half clerics, and no healing spells. You dont start with armor, or get armor from defeating bad guys. Its just impossible. What are people doing to win? ? ? ? ? ?

I cannot tell a lie, this game is exceedingly hard so far. I can't seem to get off the first map. If you like a challenge and dying, a lot, get it. Very Rogue like. Save a lot. I wish I could progress past the first map (I have tried about 6 times with different starting character) as I would like to see the other aspects of the game, but alas. I turned all the settings down to easiest too. LOL.

This game reminds me very much of the times I played pen and paper rpgs with my friends . It catches that atmosphere . The grafic is unpretending and simple but pleasant and it inspires my imagination , which I much prefer over some more evolved grafics which sometimes leave no space to my own imagination . I also really appreciate the wealth of choice in setting up the game regarding difficulty and comfort : I can decide whether there should be restrictions on when and where I can save , how many skillpoints will be up for distribution on levelup and much more . The developers are very quick to help , should there be a problem with a bug and solve it as fast as possible . They just solved a rare gamebreaking bug for me , and I change my review into positive , since now I have nothing more ruining my pleasant game-experience . And reading the discussions on steam : I see that the couple , that develops this game is very responsive to the comunity and open to sugestions . So : if you like the kind , then this game is a good buy .
