super progression game
if you expect amazing graphics in this game - dont buy it, you will get dissapointed! If you enjoy the process of turning a dead planet to a live one, then its your game! at the end of the day, this game was developed by a team of 7! I like it
If you love the satisfying loop of building, crafting, and watching a world transform right before your eyes, The Planet Crafter is an absolute must-play. It takes the best elements of open-world survival crafting games and removes the stressful, frustrating mechanics like aggressive combat or constant base raids. Instead, it replaces them with pure, addictive progression. You start dropped onto a completely barren, hostile red desert with a simple goal: terraform the entire planet to make it habitable for humans. Here is why it stands out: Insanely Satisfying Crafting & Tech Trees: You start by scraping together tiny bits of iron and titanium just to build a basic oxygen tank. Before you know it, you are constructing massive biodomes, automated extractors, and launching rockets into space to seed the atmosphere. The progression feels incredibly rewarding, and there is always one more thing to craft. Visual Transformation: The best part of the game is the literal change in the environment. As you pump heat, oxygen, and pressure into the atmosphere, the sky shifts from a dusty orange to a brilliant blue. Liquid water starts to pool into valleys, turning into massive lakes, and soon enough, moss, grass, trees, and wildlife begin to take over the landscape. Relaxing Yet Engaging Exploration: Without enemies actively trying to kill you, exploration feels like an adventure rather than a chore. Exploring shipwrecked vessels scattered across the map rewards you with rare blueprints, space food, and story fragments that piece together what happened to the planet. It is the ultimate "just five more minutes" game. If building, upgrading, and exploring at your own pace sounds like your ideal gaming session, you owe it to yourself to pick up The Planet Crafter.
Good, but you should install some quality of life mods
Chill Terraforming Game
First, with the default settings there is no way to lose. Though you can die and be set back, a bit. You can up the difficult to add in perma-death, but by default this is a really chill and forgiving game. If you’re looking for a struggle and fight, this isn’t it. What I think this game is, is satisfying, pretty going on beautiful, and fun. As you play the planet you’re on with transform and change and slowly come alive. From the sky drifting into blues, to the first drops of rain, the subtle whisps of green grass, then flowers and trees. It almost feels like you’re playing a paint by numbers game but with life on canvas of dirt and rock with terraforming equipment as your paint brush. For the bulk of your game play you’ll be running around, collecting ores and finding lost chests with items to use. You’ll probably struggle a bit for food and water early on but they’ll come. Eventually, you’ll start spelunking in large wrecks and even traveling off map to procedurally generated ones. All the while, you’ll build terraforming machines and equipment. Slowly climbing the tech tree, until one tick, you’ll be done. You’ll also have the chance to terraform other planets in the system, but that’s basically post end game. If you’re looking for something chill, and pretty with a touch of story, I’d recommend this.
If you're tired of base building and exploration games with an insane learning curve then this game is for you. As a father who works full time I often find that I'll start a base/explore game and because of the hours required to progress I just put it down and move on to the next game. Planet Crafter has the perfect difficulty level for progress without being too easy yet scratches the item/base crafting itch just right. I absolutely loved some of the Tomb Raider I style environments, I won't elaborate so there's no spoilers. Highly recommend!!
