I wanna say a lotta things about this game, but if I say even one of those things, it will spoil it. Just play the game. Please. And if you can find out who the female voice over is for Anelise, then please let me know. I tried searching online, however any info on this game is quite, well non-existent really. Probably for the best, so you don't see potential spoilers, yet also, kinda sucky cause that chicks voice is beautiful and she makes me want to change my sexuality. Anyways, the plot of the story and this review is that, I really wish I knew how to stalk her, so I can buy every other thing she has voice acted in, like the creep I am. So any info on her whereabouts will be appreciated. If you've played this game, you might think this review is ironic. Whoops did I just potentially spoil? You probably shouldn't have read this review then, and just played the dam thing.
What an experience. If it's not too late, stop reading reviews right now, and just play the game. I was fortunate enough to go into this blind, and it really adds to the experience if you don't have any expectations.

Nice little game that has a weird gameplay and an interesting plot.
It has taken awhile for me to write this review, and even still I am unsure what to say. This is a very good game. It is short and easy to play, general old school shooty game rules apply. Top down view, talk to the NPCs, visit the healer, the armor shop - all the normal things. You start to piece together the narrative through conversations with the NPCs around the town / mountain. But that's not what this game is about. The mechanics, how similar Steam thinks it is to other games you've played. No, this game is about you, the player. Are you paying attention? Do you understand what's happening here? You start to notice things, in the layers of what is half said, the scenery that doesn't match and the enemies you face. You think oh, no, that can't be, that wouldn't make sense... it must be fine. Until there is another subtle layer... and another... and another... and you're about an hour in and you realize ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ how the hell did we end up here?!? And now, you see. You see how it starts and how it goes. How it went. And then you try to write a review.
The content warning is a massive spoiler but is also necessary to put the game into perspective going into it.
The Other Half is a metaphorical story about a man fighting back his inner demons and learning to forgive himself and make amends after doing something horrible.
The story is great and I like the way it's presented for the most part. The gameplay isn't anything special. It's pretty easy - you swing around your ball of fire to hit weak points on enemies to kill them. It's very awkward to play without a controller and a lot of the transitions between story and gameplay take just long enough to take you out of the experience. It's reasonably well put together, the art is all very nice, but nothing about it really sticks out to me. Good, but not a gem.
There should be more games like this
A dark-fantasy short story, where at half of the plot the fantasy part disapears and the story became dark...very, very dark. Love it.
This ranks among the most wonderfully horrible games I've ever played.
Very nice little game that you could play in one sitting + fun gameplay mechanic + beatiful sound and voiceover + an engaging story
The other half。
