Happiness is an obligation. But then, what gives one the right to be happy? A small, garden-like Academy stands alone on a secluded island. Ichirou Yamada has been transferred there to work as a teacher. He is put in charge of Casserole, a beautiful, young girl who entered the school at the same time.

Story has great potential but it was sad to see it ended so quickly, hopefully there will be more of The Orchard of Stray Sheep in the form of a sequel or a spinoff

A really interesting premise, but the ending completely falls through. I thought that you'd have an ending with each character and that we'd see all of the girl's get some character development/back story but you really don't. You have one choice in the game that determines if you get the good ending or if you get a second choice after a few more screens of dialogue that leads to immediate game overs. You never really learn anything about one of the girls. It's just super disappointing.
It's good, but I feel not well to it. As I am bit boring for it. Negativ for VN-game. I'm sorry......
I didn't like any of the characters. They were all creepy and annoying. What is the point of reading a story if you cannot relate to any of its* characters. *No it's not it's. "It's" is "it is." Its is the possessive form of it. Look it up, genius.
Good story ! ! ! Not very much artworks but the art is good ! ! !
The Orchard of Stray Sheep is a VN about an "Academy" for girls with strange metal halos, more specifically a small group of four teachers and four students. Each student is assigned a single teacher (though one teacher is assigned two students, with the fourth "teacher" being the principal). This is a very short, very simplistic VN. There are two choices (or two choice moments, with a pair of choices at each point), leading to just three endings. You're not going to spend time figuring out how to get a good end, and you're not going to get any more world-building information on a bad end. Thematically it's interesting. The store description alludes to it with the "Eden" mention, but there's a decent amount of discussion of these Christian topics of original sin, the forbidden fruit, etc. It's also a sci-fi story with a mildly atypical setting (in terms of the society structure). It starts out relatively light-hearted, but gets pretty serious later on (in some pretty interesting ways related to the setting). Like a few other stories I've read lately (like the VN Enigma), the idea of a villain or what is "wrong" is really more complicated than your standard video game story (or even some VNs). The main problem here is that the VN is so incredibly short. Just checked my numbers and I saw something like 3 hours (I'll say 4 for good measure) for the entire experience--the semi-involved pair of bad ends, and the one good end. Technically they resolve pretty much everything they introduce as a problem, but it's all resolved incredibly quickly, and some of the resolutions are glossed over. Maybe Himawari and Island have spoiled me, but I could see a significantly longer amount of time given to the light-hearted beginning to build the characters more, as well as to the climax of the story. The buildup and climax (like, the period where we actually learn the main mystery, and it gets resolved) take place in like 15 minutes, maybe less. It also gets resolved in ways that don't use elements of the story that seem pretty important (they define the MC's past, and they're the impetus for his actions in the climax, and they again reappear in the epilogue). Couple things worth mentioning. The girls here look young, but they don't like Aqua/Sara young, which is...better, I suppose. The MC is 17, and while the age of the girls are never given to my knowledge, it's implied they're around the same age; I could quint my eyes and see their portrayal as ~14-15. Additionally, this is not a romance VN. The MC forms a deeper relationship with someone, but it really can't be labelled as a standard romance for reasons that become obvious. Art seems pretty good to me; it feels a bit unique. The music was slightly more interesting to me than usual (mainly because some of the light-hearted tracks sound kind of quirky), but that's "more interesting" not "I liked it more." Interface, UX feels pretty standard. 7.5/10. I really liked the themes. I think the sci-fi setting had potential. I enjoyed the interactions with the girls. I thought the basis for the plot intrigue was good. Unfortunately, this is just too short, and I didn't feel like there was enough time for literally any of these elements to come into their own.
