About

You’ve moved to Mush Meadows to recover from burnout from the city and working life. By selling all your belongings, you set out to start a new life closer to nature and buy a cabin that has been abandoned for a while. You discover that the cabin used to belong to a mushroom enthusiast, and they left their basket and unfinished journal there, among other things. It almost looks like they’ve just disappeared and when browsing through the journal, you notice some pages missing or unfinished...

Roam around the beautiful woodlands, find mushrooms, and use your Mushroom Journal to identify mushrooms by selecting the correct traits. Look for the characteristics of the cap, gills and stem, and remember: you may only pick mushrooms if you're 100% sure of them!

The small community of Mush Meadows relies on the mushrooms for food, trade and medicine. They welcome you, and are eager to help you, it has been a long time since an “outsider” was among them. Go introduce yourself, and you might find yourself on a journey of new friendships, fulfilling the requests of your new neighbors.

The Mushroom Journal was created as a student project within the duration of three months. We carefully crafted our concept, produced all art and audio for the game ourselves, and were able to deliver our project we're incredibly proud of.

Alright, this game is incredible! First of all, this is adorable. The pixel art for the entire environment is incredible. The characters feel a bit less polished than the world, but it's nothing problematic at all. The characters are still adorable, they just feel less colorful than they should be. I'm not a pixel artist, I work in 3D environments, but I'm sure you could make it! The mechanic to identify mushrooms is great, I love it. Though, since the name is "The Mushroom Journal", I would recommend making the journal more interactive and visually appealing. Making it possible to open the journal without interacting with mushrooms, and taking inspiration from "Little Witch in the Woods" for the art style, drawing/collecting mechanic. (You can do it, your pixel art is already gorgeous) I would love to see this game grow, with the new areas, a shop to use my gold (since I'm the Jeff Bezos of mushrooms now) No need to have mushrooms this big - you could make smaller mushrooms and just put more saturation in the colors, it will feel more natural in the environment, without missing them I think that's everything I wanted to say! Great job for a student project, absolutely adorable game!

Fun little game. I like the process of learning the different terms for identifying mushrooms. I also liked being able to stick to the paths or try navigating through the dense forest areas.
This is a cute start to a game. I have been enjoying playing it and look forward for more content in the future. Here is a bit of feedback from me: A map addition will be very useful. Due to the save mechanic being going to sleep in the cabin, there should be a pop up that states that the game has been saved. There should be a stall or person that sells additional inventory spaces, and the items needed to continue to the next areas or be rewards for some quests. Keep up the good work, I know how much time it takes to make a game. I believe in your team and that you can make this game into a complete and wonderful game. <3
Nice and cozy little experience. Enough content for an hour of playtime and doesn't overstay its welcome. The different mushrooms were nicely done, my only wish was that there was more!
Good for a free game, needs a slightly more in depth tutorial for the journal and how it works, also only got through about 20 minutes before the game started bugging and froze on me. Still cute and fun though so I will be playing more.

멋진 픽셀 게임,나는 그것을 추천합니다
I very much appreciate the Disclaimer at the start of the game; IRL mushrooms are not to be trifled with. This is a very cute, peaceful game. It was fun learning about the mushrooms around my character's house.
Such a cute and simple game, but i got a little motion sickness when the game start laggy. Perhaps the pixel model could be simplified and adding option to adjust the fps, frame ratio and sound volume. Overall, it's okay to try this free game, the arts already good and has a cute NPC.
