Pointless detective game where the only gameplay is to try everything until something works. In the game, you play as a detective on the hunt for a serial killer. Your job is to investigate the locations, hunt for evidence, and determine the victim's name as well as the sins and virtues of which they were guilty. Unfortunately, detective work is nonexistent. Each victim is a body holding a note with a riddle written on it. Because there are no more clues, your task is to deduce a sin and virtue from the puzzle. The killer's reasoning differs so a sin can also be a virtue. Visuals and sound create a nice atmosphere, but that's the only good thing about it. Each scene is way too dark, which makes finding stuff hard. The only visual clue is a slightly brighter item when you get close, but this doesn't help when an item is on an already bright spot. Except for a bible with a list of sins and virtues and a puzzle note, the murder scene has just a list of missing people. Because the body lacks traits, it is impossible to discern whether it is male or female. This makes the game impossible because you have to find the correct name with no hints. The motel scene, for instance, gives you nine names to work with. There's no other way to find out the right one unless you enter each one. This is not satisfying detective work and makes the whole premise pointless.

The other review fell victim to the Dunning-Kruger effect as it is not true that the cases can´t be solved other than trial and error as there are no clues. The riddles require you to pay close attention to everything what is written, said (Hint: Especially what the police man has to say on your first assignment) and to your environment/items there. It is not easy, If you look for a game that offers some handholding or helps you out with alot of hints, than it might be not for you. I am myself got stuck several times but so far it felt very satisfying to make the deductions and eventually come up with the correct answers although you might end up entering some wrong ones or catch yourself reverting to trial and error. However once you have the solution it never feels frustrating retrospective like in few ohter detective/mystery games where you get stuck. For the price of 2 bucks I already got my worth multiple times. Last, the audivisual design is atmospheric. https://youtu.be/JdZXHci9F7o Will update once I progress.
Bilmeceler, yazılanlara, söylenenlere (İpucu: Özellikle ilk görevinizde polis memurunun söylediklerine) ve oradaki ortamınıza/eşyalarınıza dikkat etmenizi gerektiriyor. Biraz arafta kalmış ama denemeye değer.

"The Mournmore Killings" is a very badly made "detective" puzzle game with mild biblical/religion themes as the murderer you investigate is considered a "sinner". The gameplay itself is pretty lame stuff, walk around, find the murder victim and their clue, then try to solve the incredibly bad puzzles... just lookup a walkthrough if you want to get through this mess. The puzzles are really badly designed and vague. The graphics here are particularly awful, laughably bad low poly assets with low res pixelcrap textures on them, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. Now onto pricing and value. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $5 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. Even as a free game, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of only 2 players, it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time playing this. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam.
Без знания английского очень проблематично проходить. А с ним ♥♥♥♥♥ не легче. На разок пойдёт.
The Mournmore Killings is a super fun mystery game that reminds me a lot of Return of the Obra Dinn, one of my favorite games ever. The gameplay is fairly simple without being too handholdy, and it feels satisfying to solve each level's mystery. The graphics and atmosphere add a lot to the horror, and the game's writing does a good job at creating tension by having you enter a sort of cat and mouse game with the killer. Two criticisms I have: 1. I've occasionally gotten a bug in the game where upon reloading my save, I can no longer speak to the police NPC to progress further. 2. Some sections could use more clues, specifically the library section. There was really only one way to figure out the victim's identity, and I feel like there could have been another "mini-hint" worked in somewhere. Overall, very difficult but enjoyable game.
There are hardly any clues that can guide you to meaningful answer. In fact the only way to solve the levels is to brute force it every time which is very frustrating. Although to give credit where credit is due the concept is intriguing and this had potential to be a very interesting and engaging mystery game, however the execution of this game ultimately fails.
