Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 11.29/day in the week to Aug 29 → 16.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Can't trust anything you see.

Solid premise, rough as hell in execution, and I can't recommend it in this state. The atmosphere is easily the best part, it's got the right vibe going, but it needs way more polish to actually land the scares instead of just gesturing at them. My biggest issue is the RNG loadouts. Once you hit Advanced and above it genuinely kills the run. You can get screwed by the roll and be stuck with loud guns, which doesn't make the mission harder in an interesting way, it just inflates the difficulty because now you're just awakening the forest to survive a couple enemies if you're stuck with a sailors knife. Why can't I just pick my kit, or at least get more melee options guaranteed? I get the whole "choose your fights carefully" thing they're going for, but on higher difficulties the game throws enemies at you the second you break a branch or two, so the "stealth" premise falls apart anyway once you're 5-10 minutes into a mission anyway. And the combat is jank enough to ruin whatever's left. The melee hitboxes are terrible, so when the RNG screws you and you're stuck swinging the wrong weapon at armored zombies that soak up hits forever, every fight turns into a coin flip you didn't sign up for. On top of that the mission variety is basically nonexistent, it's retrieve a logbook, reclaim a fort, or retrieve a steel canister, over and over. There's a good game buried in here somewhere and I want it to get there, but right now it's carried entirely by the setting, and that isn't enough. There's a diamond in here but it needs more work to make it apparent. It was great the first time you have the forest awaken and it's creepy, forcibly separated from your friends and you try to find each other frantically. Absolute great experience for the first ~3 hours.
If you ignore the performance and day 1 dlc, its a great game.
PLAY THE DEMO. With friends using proximity chat. That will give you a far better idea of whether you'll like it than any review. It's weird and does NOT fit into a box. You buy this game for the stories you share and tell with your friends. You go into a mission, something goes terribly terribly wrong. Maybe the game tricks you, maybe your friend is eaten by trees, maybe you have a life and death sprint through a zombie-infested forest while bleeding out, only to extract with a sliver of health. And as the countdown is happening...the trees are coming for you. THE TREES ARE MOVING AND THEY WANT TO EAT YOU. Don't trust them. Also, don't trust the equipment they give you...sometimes its a trap. Also that rifle you picked up might actually be a stick that looks like a rifle. Also that's not your friend, that's a worm creature. Why didn't you notice the switch? This isn't an action game with extraction elements, this a story-generating engine that you will talk about for a while. This is based on extensive gameplay of the demo and the main release, but not the mid-late game. I'll amend this review if anything changes.
The game is fun, but there are couple of issues. Solo play is possible, but still difficult and worse than normal multiplayer (how surprising). The bot AI is good at shooting and usually saves you in a pinch, but struggles to keep up with you. The Cart that follows you is also really janky. The big issue with the game is that it does a terrible job communicating how certain mechanics work. For example, there's this tree bug monster that targets you if you're alone, and reduces your health to a single point while covering you in boomer bile. However, the only thing in the game that communicates that it targets people who are alone is in a small book you can miss, which results in people flooding the discussion forms complaining about the tree bug monster. Once you understand how it works, it's a cool risk to consider while exploring, but it's frustrating when you keep getting ambushed by the monster without knowing why. The game is full of stuff like this which is annoying. Other than that, the gameplay is awesome and the game looks great. I really like the Monkey Puzzle trees every where, they look cool as hell. It's hard to say that the game is worth $30, but I would pick it up if there's a sale. I hope that the game will improve in the future and ACE keeps making weird games. Also add Kax-Teh as a hidden boss or something idk.
bad
Game has potential but there are too many things that need fixing, the combat needs a lot of tweaking. I would not recommend this game atm. This game isn't worth the price tag tbh, After you unlock everything or hit max rank there is nothing else to do, just the same maps and missions repeat etc. When you do enough runs/missions with your friends you'll soon discover everything within the game that needs fixing.
For now everything seems to be fine. Really fun with with friends or solo. Will update the review later.
