We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.

Sauron (Aspyr), release Battle for Middle-earth and my life is yours!!!
Peak is back, gaming is saved! Also they genuinely made the game a lot better. Like, even if you’ve played the original the QOL upgrades here are easily worth the buy if you’re a War in the North shill like me. BIG recommendation from me. (Also, slight update after some more testing: works amazing on Deck! Max settings and everything without a hitch!)

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Since you guys managed to release this port, I don't see any reason why you can't release The Battle for Middle-Earth games as well.
Just so you understand what you're getting: This isn't a remaster or a port to a new engine. This is a rerelease of the original game with a patch. The patch fixes some bugs and adds some QOL along with (poorly) upscaled textures. Most importantly, the online co-op is back (through EGS) though as far as can be determined, it is not crossplay between platforms. It is still fundamentally the same game on the same engine with most of the same (minor) jank. It includes all of the original deluxe edition/pre-order DLC stuff in the rerelease. As for new stuff, there's a camera lock-on for ranged attacks and abilities (melee still handles the same even if locked on.) The UI is updated to show full ally stats as well as giving consumables their own panel. There's a proper Borderless mode. You can hotswap between characters when solo so you can actually equip and upgrade them in the middle of a level. The visuals are very slightly cleaned up. That's it, really. The game itself is still a solid 7/10 and worth playing if you're in the mood for a Snowblind action RPG that isn't quite as good as Return to Arms. For existing owners, you'll have to use your best judgment on whether it's worth another 20USD.
This Is How You Bring Classic Games Back
Honestly, I’m just really happy to see The Lord of the Rings: War in the North available again. This is exactly what I want to see more of in gaming. Games shouldn’t disappear and become impossible to play unless you’re willing to hunt down an old copy or pay ridiculous prices on the secondary market. War in the North is a fantastic Lord of the Rings game and one that deserved to be accessible again. The co-op, the combat, the three playable characters, and the whole idea of experiencing a different side of the War of the Ring still make this one of the most underrated LOTR games out there. It’s an adventure that a lot of people missed the first time around, and now they finally have a chance to experience it. I really hope we see more delisted games come back like this. Give people a legitimate way to buy and play these games again instead of letting them disappear forever. This is a fantastic step in the right direction, and I’m genuinely glad War in the North is accessible again.
Welcome Back to Middle-earth
🎅Would Appreciate If You Follow My Curator Page🎅 Would mean a lot if you supported me there, would help me create more quality reviews.
One does not simply stop after this. We're eating good but what about second breakfast? Now we need the same love for LOTR Conquest (considering [strike] Aspyr [/strike] Sauron also did Battlefront). It would also be nice to see The Two Towers, Return of the King, Battle for Middle-Earth and Third Age get the same treatment as well.
I played this game when it came out originally on xbox360, Loved it. Love it to death and broke it out recently played it with my son. Its a phenomenal game. Aspyr had the audacity to release it again after it was delisted and not fix the save bugs. You cannot play this game as intended and have it save properly. If you use quick match or party finder your progress doesnt save. And if you do a legit group you still have to jump through a bunch of weird hoops to get it to save and even then its not gauranteed it will save. Im not saying the game is terrible solo, but thats not why I want to play it. Its an amazing fighty co op game, possibly one of the best. Its lord of the rings golden axe. But if I cant properly play it online with friends or random pick ups I jsut dont care about it at all.
With no way to seemingly contact the dev team, I'll post this review with problems in the game. If they get fixed, I'll change it to positive. In Bree, after you leave and then come back, there are massive amount of weapons, potions, etc sitting in one clump on the main path near the Blacksmith. Sometimes, these weapons apears in checkpoint areas too. It seems like a leftover for the dev team for testing, and it never got correctly cleaned up for release. I'm also having issues with ranged weapons not doing damage until I move into point blank range, and even then it's not working. I notice that it usually happens when I clear an area and then head back to Bree to exit/save the game, and then come back to re-play that area. It's quite frustrating to unload a full inventory of arrow into snipers on the roofs/towers only to do no damage. I haven't gotten very far yet, but these early bugs make it not fun to progress. I want to like this, as I played the old version on PC and PS3 back in the day.
Literally not a single better way to spend 18 dollars. I cannot believe they shadow dropped this. This game is special, and it would be a disservice not to play it. Find two friends and play it. If they don't want to buy it, buy it for them. If you can't do that, hit me up, and maybe I'm feeling generous. I CANNOT believe they shadow dropped this. If you're ever feeling lost and need a reason to make it to tomorrow, let it be this: At any moment an unplayable gem from your childhood could be remastered and flawlessly ported to Steam for 18 dollars.
