A tester !
The Last Friend is a genre-blending indie title that combines tower defense strategy, arcade-style brawler combat, and character-driven progression into a surprisingly heartfelt post-apocalyptic adventure. Developed by The Stonebot Studio and Ludus Games and published by Skystone Games, the game stands out not only for its unusual mechanical hybrid but also for its emotional core, which centers on companionship, loyalty, and the simple joy of rescuing dogs in a broken world. What initially appears to be a quirky, lighthearted action game gradually reveals a thoughtful design that balances strategy and action while maintaining a consistently warm tone. Set in a colorful yet dangerous wasteland overrun by mutants, the story follows Alpha, a mostly silent drifter who survives by scavenging and fighting across hostile environments. His journey takes a meaningful turn when he rescues a chihuahua named T. Juan and discovers he can understand what dogs are saying. This humorous narrative hook quickly becomes the backbone of the game, reframing each mission as more than a mechanical objective. Every level completed and every dog rescued adds emotional weight to the adventure, turning progression into a growing sense of responsibility toward your expanding pack rather than a simple numbers game. Gameplay revolves around a two-phase loop that smartly merges planning and execution. Before combat begins, players enter a preparation phase where they deploy rescued dogs as defensive units across multiple lanes leading to their RV, which acts as both a mobile base and the primary structure that must be defended. Each dog functions as a unique tower, with roles ranging from damage dealers and crowd controllers to support units that heal or enhance nearby allies. Once the wave begins, Alpha jumps directly into the action, moving freely between lanes and engaging enemies with straightforward but satisfying melee combat. This dual-layer design keeps players mentally engaged, forcing them to think tactically while also reacting quickly in the heat of battle. As levels progress, the game introduces new enemy types, environmental hazards, and mission variations that prevent the formula from becoming stale. Scrap collected from defeated enemies is used to build and upgrade defenses mid-fight, creating constant tension between staying safe and venturing out to collect resources quickly. This risk-reward dynamic adds a welcome layer of decision-making, especially during later encounters where waves become denser and mistakes more costly. Boss fights and special challenge missions further shake up expectations, sometimes shifting the emphasis toward Alpha’s combat skills and other times demanding near-perfect defensive setups. Between missions, players return to their RV camp, which serves as a hub for upgrades, character progression, and bonding moments with rescued dogs. This downtime is more than cosmetic; interacting with your canine companions reinforces their personalities and abilities, and leveling them up expands strategic options in future battles. The game cleverly uses these interactions to strengthen emotional attachment, making each new dog feel like a meaningful addition rather than just another tool in your arsenal. Over time, Alpha’s understanding of dog dialogue improves, adding charm and subtle narrative progression without heavy exposition. Visually, The Last Friend adopts a bold, cartoon-inspired art style that contrasts sharply with its ruined world setting. Bright colors, exaggerated character designs, and expressive animations keep the tone accessible and upbeat even during intense combat sequences. Enemy designs are imaginative and varied, helping combat encounters feel visually engaging, while the dogs themselves are animated with an attention to personality that gives them genuine presence on the battlefield. The soundtrack complements the pacing well, maintaining energy during fights and relaxing during camp moments without overpowering the experience. While the game may not offer the extreme difficulty or deep optimization expected by hardcore tower defense veterans, its accessibility is part of its appeal. Combat controls are intuitive, strategy systems are easy to grasp, and the difficulty curve is forgiving enough to encourage experimentation. Minor issues, such as occasional camera awkwardness or encounters that feel slightly unbalanced, do little to undermine the overall experience, especially given how consistently fun and charming the game remains. Ultimately, The Last Friend succeeds by harmonizing its mechanics with its emotional theme. It is a game about defense and survival, but also about protecting what matters in a collapsing world. By blending strategic planning, active combat, and character-driven progression with a genuine affection for its canine companions, it delivers an experience that feels both mechanically engaging and emotionally uplifting. For players who enjoy inventive genre hybrids, approachable strategy, and games that lead with heart as much as design, it stands out as a memorable and endearing indie adventure. Rating: 8/10

Great and entertaining one
I love the premise and the game is solid.
english, is awesome. this is the game i recomend the most, has many original feature, and funny text it deseverve alot of more money than the remaster of EA plants vs zombies. español: el juego me encanto, su estilo de combate habilidades, y los perros con sus caracteristicas unicas
I found this game so dull that I couldn't continue.
