The Knight of Niraking feels just as I'd imagine a retro game would. I've had a lot of fun figuring out the tricks to the game and uncovering the ways it works instead of having the rules of the world just explained to me. I 100% recommend you to try the game and see if you enjoy it. I think this will be the first of many steps into this style of game for me, and look forward to playing TKoN more.
Knight of Niraking, I played this game in early stages and saw its growth and I do like the final outcome a lot. Now I will say its creativity lacks in some areas as in you can really see the source material shine through (Zelda) and while this is not a bad thing sometimes you could feel as if you swapped a section from each game and its the same playing. It is hard to reinvent the wheel so do not take its similarity to Zelda as a push factor, it should pull you forward. The game is fun for those who like RPGs like this and overall a mostly straightforward and enjoyable game. Some people do not like to use their brains when playing RPGs and are too reliant on the internet so try to solve some problems IN-GAME before you reach to the internet, it'll make finishing the game more satisfying. Fun title, 9.2/10.
Even though I haven't played for long it's super fun and feels like I'm playing a real retro game like a link to the past from the art style to the music and even the enemies! Would 100% recommend to anyone.
This games minor flaws are more than made up for in a rather fun albeit simple gameplay loop... not to say its not challenging...it is ... you kind of have to learn as you go... also the developer is very responsive to questions you may have ... Will keep my eye on the next project.. especially if its another zeldalike...this dev has the sauce!
