I love this game and they did what LJN couldn't do in the 90s and that is make a good beat em up. I bought this yesterday on the special promo for $10 and it was $10 worth spent. I'm a huge Karate Kid fan and i had it on my wish list for a while now then i seen it on sale and i couldn't refuse that deal. I can tell the developers took time and effort to make this game. Sucks that this game isn't online co-op. I give this game a 9 out of 10. i would of been a 10 out of 10 if there was online, the lore was more accurate and more stuff i cant think of top of my head. Yes i recommend this game to people that love arcade style beat em up and people that enjoys Karate Kid and Cobra Kia series. I'm glad that a small studio redid a beat em up that LJN made that wasn't that great and turned it into fun. Thank You

It's a...fine brawler. Just fine. Has a lot of modes and multiple characters, the pixel art is decent and the animations are OK, but it has no online play (seriously?) and the Karate Kid brand is just stapled on and barely used aside from some really weak static cutscenes that apparently aren't AI generated, but would easily be accused of being such. Fun on deep sale, but $50 standard price is a ludicrous ask.

The game was mediocre. It was just okay. It followed a lot of the movie’s key scenes. I was underwhelmed and the ending was abrupt with no credits. The Good The pixel art is really good. Lots of levels with unique set piece levels. The game pretty much followed the movies story. The menu and ui looks good and works. The gameplay is alright. You just button mash, try to do combos, and use your special. It’s very repetitive. The game is short. The minigames were nice. The Bad When I tried to run with the d-pad, it was like it wasn’t registering the key pressed. Using the analog worked fine so why not the d-pad? There were scenes when I had to face two bosses, even though Mr.Miyagi or Daniel’s girlfriend made an appearance in the ingame cutscene before the battle. They just leave me to fight alone. I think battles drag on for far too long. And there are way too many people fighting Daniel. It feels like the whole school or town is after Daniel and I hate that. Fighting bosses is annoying. I basically have to wait for an opening and then make little jabs and repeat, till the boss is dead. There’s a concept mode menu. I don’t think it is good. They just show you the pixel art of different characters but it’s not the whole tileset. And they don’t even show you any storyboards or concept art of the cutscenes. They just show some pixel art of the characters and their recolors. The cutscenes have their own style. It felt like a completely different person did it. It’s nothing like the look of the cover of the game. When I game overed at a boss fight, I had to do the whole level again to then fight that boss. The game doesn’t allow you to manually save. It just autosaves. I think the story could have been better. I’m kinda shocked that they didn’t show any of the cutscene art on the steam store or trailer. Conclusion I don’t think it’s a good game but I don’t hate it.
