Right now i can not recommend this game in its current state. I hope the Devs read this review. REGARDLESS of all this talk about "THE FOREST COPY" that literally means nothing to me when reviewing this game. Devs this game has some potential but needs alot of work. The inventory UI needs a total rework, along with the crafting book. The combat needs actual collision when you hit a npc. Right now the story just feels like your just randomly running around a forest with just randomly placed npcs. Their is way too many of them too. And respawn rate is just unreasonable. Food seems to be used up way too fast aswell. As far as the flight attendant give her some voice and personality, Not just press and a subtitle pops up. I could really play past 30 minutes until i had enough. This game has potential but DEVS this game needs a alot of work before I would even of released it on Steam in this condition. That being said I am keeping a eye on this game and hope you guys do turn this game around.
this is a unplayable copy of the forest....
DONT BUY THIS GAME PLZ
I played it for about 20 minutes. Covering as much as i could bare in the game. You start of with a short video of the character in a small sailboat and him looking toward what looks like an island. The boat hits against some rocks and your character is standing on the shore of the island and the game begins. With no tutorial on how to use or do anything, the objective of "Go to the crashed plane wreck" appears and you see an icon floating with a distance in numbers underneath it. It seems the character was tooting along and witnessed a plane wreck and float over to investigate it. Only to get himself stranded as well. (My assumption from observation) There are a few loot bags, a backpack to "expand" the players item capacity and an axe on the ground. You can pick up and equip the axe to defend against the many enemies that litter the island. There are also copy and paste containers along the shore line with loot bags you can check out. But most if not all are empty. Once you get to crashed plane wreck there are body bags all over the scene along with a woman sitting and crying inside the broken plane. Once you approach and interact with her, you are given the objective of "Finding (forgot the name) in a hidden cave on the island". After dying about 3 times from the enemies and very quick starvation (which seems to come quicker with sprinting?), i could not find the hidden cave on the island and after the 4th or 5th starvation and retry, I quit the game. I understand it's early access and unfinished, but it's like playing ps1 game mechanics with ps2 graphics. The game has a lot of potential but needs a lot of work. A LOT of work. In my honest opinion, the early access should have waited until further development. To give us a better idea and experience as to what the devs intend it to be. Unless this is the best it's going to get.. Then.. Damn. Anyway, as the game is now, i do not recommend it at all. I hate giving a negative review and a thumbs down but it's my honest opinion. And personally, I believe the game is overpriced for what you get. It has potential to be a really cool game but it needs a lot more work. Once more work has been made and we're blessed (or cursed) with an update, I'll review it once again. Oh and there is absolutely no controller support. Thank you for the time and work you put into the game to share with us. Good Luck!
I hate to do it but the game is far too unplayable at the moment. Not sure if it was just my experience, but i was unable to attack with the spear i found, instead it just disappeared, enemies are random and will basically chase you for hours but by then you've run into more anyway and they're chasing you too, I couldn't talk to the pilot, although I'm assuming you have to kill the cannibals first which i couldn't do without a weapon. There was seemingly no way to gather resources nor quickly equip items by pressing 1,2,3,4, etc like in most games.. It would be nice to at least attack with bare hands and block. The graphics are ok, and i didn't seem to have performance issues but i played for only 10 mins. (I tried but i just couldn't) I'm sorry, but i hope this helps you further develop your game! It has a good premise (much like the forest) and I would be glad to give it another go upon further development! Good Luck!
Same price as the forest and literally the Walmart version of the Forest. Avoid
