- grapple mechanic they don't do anything interesting with - location looks boring and empty - it doesn't look like they even tried with the monster/mascot designs - flashlight feels weird and turns off too slowly - the entire yellow monster section sucks, it's boring and expected because the music starts before you even see the mosnter - the animations are bad - I could see the map glitch out because in some areas (i was in bounds) were flashing white while I walked by - I had the subtitles on and they didn't show up - The tutorial can be opened with c and closed with b, why? just map it to one button - actually why is the grapple the p button? its all the way over there, just make it e or q - I understand you need to load maps but at least do a fade to black when going through those doors because it feels very unnatural - the jumpscares are not scary - after you get a key you don't just automatically use it on the door, you have to get in your inventory, choose the key AND THEN use it - The screen telling me the lore showed up for a second before the menu loaded - walking and running are slow, which makes it tedious to play - first time i picked up the grapple it was too close to the camera (i didnt do anything yet) - the chase itself is so easy its not worth talking about, the obstacles aren't even a little problem Don't even play it as a joke, it's bad and all the puzzles were just "find code to door, find lever, find button". I hope the developers learn from their mistakes and make something decent. Here are some of my suggestions: 1. Make the walking and running faster 2. To make the place feel less empty, make the walls more colorful and put posters on them. I also reccomend more daycare stuff in your daycare location, it honestly looks like a storage space 3. Make the gragple more useful, maybe it could pull levers from far away? Or knock something over to distract the monster? 4. The menu screen can be a looping video instead of trees that the game has to load in. 5. Work on the designs, you have an idea but it needs more details or else they will feel boring and unoriginal 6. Make the flashlight and the grapple animations faster, you don't even have to put down the flashlight just turn it off and on like in other games 7. I feel like the game might be poorly optimized, you might want to check that and those white glitches out

Usually if I wish I could leave a neutral review for a game, I'll just give it a thumbs up, but explain what I didn't like. I like to give the benefit of the doubt, or address factors that made the game "neutral worthy". For this game, I have to veer towards a negative. This is very obviously an attempt to jump on the "scary mascot" train. The whole thing is pretty half-assed imo. Very (sub) standard fare, very typical stuff. Seems to rely on jumpscares for the spooks, and even those were pretty cringe-worthy. The puzzles that I encountered were... uh... lame. There's a keypad on the door. "Man I better put on my thinking cap, and keep my eyes peeled for that code!". Nope. there it is, in plain sight. Punch in the code, door opens. Get "scared" by a loud noise. Rinse and repeat. I will be totally honest, I didn't even finish the game, I just couldn't. I even had to idle the game for a minute or two just to leave this review. It was so "meh" right of the bat that I just couldn't stick with it. It IS free, and as a proof of concept, I guess it's o.k., but there are other games exactly like this that are much better. Keep in mind that this review is not for the finished version of the game, and that the game might improve vastly over time. edit: Good on you for owning up to your mistake, Deadlight.
they have this grapple mechanic and don't really do anything interesting with it. you just kinda run around for like 10 minutes
The game is super janky and if you can get the item to work properly congrats.
Это не игра. Это просто кто-то учится.
Okay, why am I not recommending this? There's a few reasons, and some of them aren't related to the game itself. First off, I want to say that some of the code-related puzzles are rather misleading. For example, the 2nd code puzzle you experience is set in a room with an open book on a table to the side of the room, which would make you think the code is in the book right? Wrong. It's on a piece of paper randomly placed on the floor by the door to the next room. Why have an open book on a desk if the code isn't in it? Second, the game lagged quite a lot when I first booted it up. It seems that the title screen alone gobbles up your PCs resources (Even if it's a decent machine like mine is), which kinda gets your hopes up, and then when the game actually starts the frames skyrocket and the quality of the game instantly diminishes. Third, the layout of the facility you are exploring is just... weird. The level design is borderline basic, the actual layout itself is very strange (For example, near the beginning of the game there is just a random area you have to go into to pull a lever to open a door to another random area), but I suppose I can't really comment on this especially since it's a free game. Those are all the reasons relating to the game that I won't be recommending this, but there's unfortunately more. I also won't be recommending this game because when reading past reviews of this game, I saw that the developer replied to one of them saying, quote: "you can, you are just dumb." To me, that sounds incredibly unprofessional and actually rather rude, which is not a good image you want to give to people who have taken the time to play your game? Overall, I won't recommend this title. Not just because of the game, but also because of the people who made it. If you don't like being insulted over an opinion you have on the game, then avoid this one.
this game is fun and all i guess but when you are on the run level im just not able to progess past the part plus i have encounterd hundreds of bugs at this point
I happened to glitch the game into locking a door perpetually and ruined my ability to move forward. I wasn't able to progress so I have no actual understanding of the horror that awaited me. As it stands I can't recommend the game unless you're a barrel aficionado.
