With early access obviously there are some issues but nothing game breaking that I have encountered. It does have an appeal to it. If the bugs are worked out, it will be a good solo survival game. Update after 14 more hours game time: The island is massive, you can run around for days and not see all of it. Plenty of resources to harvest for crafting items. Plenty of resources you can find in abandoned camps. If you like solo crafting survival games, give this one a chance.
TLDR; Grinding is typical for survival games, but the ISLE survival is so far out of balance that it's NOT fun and NOT playable IMHO. ***IMPORTANT*** This is NOT the "ISLE" as in the dinosaur game. That's what I thought it was when I bought it, but it is NOT. Don't be fooled. Update: NOV 2025 - Not seeing any updates, so assume this title is abandoned, and also evidenced by the total number of reviews. See below for my objective opinion. If your somehow manage to maintain interest in playing this game longer than 4 hours then kudos to you. As of the date of this review, my opinion is that the progression is so slow that it's pointless. Keep in mind I'm not new to survival games and have logged thousands of hours across multiple gaming platforms. I'm a grinding machine, but after 3.6 hours and getting nowhere I tapped out. - Gather rates are unbelievably low (1-2 items per gather) and you need hundreds if not thousands of any particular resource to make any meaningful progress or item. - A basic torch or other light source for use at night is so fundamental it shouldn't be missing, but it was. I didn't find anything besides a stationary campfire that could provide light at night. - Fuel consumption of the campfire mentioned above is set far too high. Even if you 'craft' wood into 'firewood' you'll burn through stacks every single night, which further compounds the issue with low gather rates. - Animals (some aggressive, some not) spawning inside buildings...? No. If it's going to be pitch black at night, and I have secured the location, spawning wildlife inside on top of the player isn't cool. It's just bad game design. Combat isn't great, and gets annoying fast. - Everything else I'm going to simply attribute to being Early Access. The atmosphere and overall feeling was actually interesting, and the weather added nicely so it wasn't all bad. It just needs more work. Ciao!
bought this game over a year ago and its still in the same state thought it would be good but im just gonna toss this one in the back come back next year i guess
All I can say is that there are enemies everywhere, but I put 12 bullets in the head of the first guy I saw, and it had no effect, but his bullets killed me fast enough after my clip emptied. Then I put several bullets into one of the bomb dogs and it just ran away, so I tried the axe - no effect at all with multiple blows to the dog. This is a serious downer that makes the game useless.
yes, it's ea no, nothing new my main gripe: player can't climb. i will not play a survival game that doesn't allow the player to climb. it is soooo easy to add the ability to climb back to surroundead and the new deadpoly. my character can climb :)
This is an early access title but so far I am really liking this game. A lot of interesting areas around. I am sure that as long as the Developer continues to add and update this game it will be one that a survivalist should have. So far the Developer is very responsive. I have recorded a couple of videos so far, link is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LobK_tp7Pdw Watch if you want to see some gameplay
i thought this game was the isle the dinosaur game i need refund
Already have it played a few Minutes got interested need to invest some more time in it but seems good
ISLE survival A single game developer an early access title but so far I am really liking this game plenty to do and places to explore Plenty of resources to gather , loads of items to craft , build looking forward to see ware the game goes
The game seems to have potential however there is no clear direction or objective from the start, so personally, not my taste as i enjoy being at least slightly guided in some direction. Inventory seems to operate fairly different from other games and id say to a point that its not good. To be clear, it has potential but as it is now, i would describe it as a very subpar version of "The Forrest".
