Meh, I would give this a neutral review. My feelings while playing this were split between fun and annoying. I generally liked most of the game, but the dungeon experiences were horrible... In the end I gave it a thumbs up because I had some fun at least. If you have luck with rng, you might have more fun than me. Also, what's this obsession with pixel graphics?
I really wanted to like it. Graphics were good, the map was a nice change, but the actual gameplay was not for me.
Fun game, a bit of a combination of Battle Brothers' style world map and combat, Darkest Dungeon's dungeons and character builds. Combat is challenging, in particular early in the campaign, and the game has a lot of difficulty settings if your units begin to out-scale the enemies. The campaign is a full story that's much more personal than Battle Brothers', but the open world still gives plenty of freedom to roam. The pixel art is fantastic. There's a decent amount of variety in the character classes, each with 6 different skills (4 of which can be equipped) and modifier trees for each of those skills. The game encourages you to have some overlap and experiment with builds. Class balance seems mostly okay. It is a somewhat small game, as I felt myself wishing there were more classes and more different types of enemies to fight. It would have also been nice to have more involved boss fights and objectives that aren't just clearing the enemies. Thanks to the medium length campaign, the game also didn't overstay it's welcome for me as I only did side missions when the game required me to. Fun game, look forward to seeing more from this dev.
Great game, similar concept to Battle Brothers and Wartales, but different enough to give itself a unique feel. Does a few things better than the others, some worse. Each class is unique and offers cool abilities. Wish there was a few more, but there enough to keep it interesting. Overall, highly recommend it. If you like BB or Wartales, you'll likely enjoy this too.
This game is pretty much the same as Battle Brothers but better in almost every way. The game is challenging but doesn't require you to constantly save scum to overcome the RNG like Battle Brothers does (there are also 5 difficulty settings so you can tweak as you like) The only downside I will say is class selection could be broader and buying/trading is fairly simplistic. But otherwise the game is fun and interesting!
Perfect game. Turn-based with intelligent IA of enemies. It's similar to Wartales but in a fantasy world and with a better story. The combat is very nice and roster management is great. Very pollished game. Tons of hours of fun gaming ahead. Nice gameplay in steamdeack btw.
dead game.
Still no Executioner class
The person who added "limited" skills usage on the dungeon level, stolen from DnD mechanic - ruined this game! One of the most stupid mechanics in any turn-based tactical games. Learn from legends, like FFT and Tactic Ogre!
Seriously? You added pronouns (they/them) to a video game in a medieval fantasy world?
