The Indifferent Wonder of an Edible Place is a story about a building eater consuming a tower in a town condemned to be removed from history. It ponders the violence of erasure and the profound grief of surviving at the edge of despotism, when places of entangled heritage are willfully effaced.

This isn't your typical videogame. It's a sort of homage to a person who wrote a poem on how easy it is to demolish historical buildings so that others can be built in their place. During our walkthrough our simple objective will be to eat various blocks of a huge tower. Every new block eaten provides us with a new verse from the poet. By clicking the right mouse button we get to see our next objective. I do not know if consuming other blocks is possible or just the assigned ones. In 15 minutes or so we are done (but not completely) with the lower section and the game abruptly ends. For me this part was a bit of a disappointment as I expected to get rid of the entire section so that I could see the tower collapsing. It would have been a fitting ending. The destruction is shown in the trailer and also at the beginning of the game to give you a glimpse as to what's to come. But this is a nuance only. It is a very interesting game or work of art (one can call it a walking sim, too). Some of these hidden gems are very refreshing between 2 AAA titles, are they not?
"I have become a soldier of the locust army a vulture or rubble a concrete maggot" So many themes, so many feelings and emotions wrapped in 15 min gameplay. This is the perfect example of quality over quantity. The loss of history, the cruel entropy has the form of a jaw, and of inevitability. Oh, you brave soul, will your hunger be tamed? A FREAKING JEWEL, free, short and deep. If you don't play it, i won't talk to you anymore. Promised. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3024132076

It's a good representation of a poem, with a surprisingly inventive (if simple) mechanic — not just a walking sim. Unfortunately, I strongly dislike this kind of saccharine long-winded poetry.

What is The Indifferent Wonder of an Edible Place? This is the kind of game that I can't review. It is art. Art that you have to experience. Any review would just spoil the experience. Just the basics: You play from the first person perspective. The genre nowadays would be called a "walking simulator". Back in my day it was called First Person Adventure. Semantics don't matter. What matters is not the gameplay, which is very basic, but the story. The idea. It is a short story in video game form. It transcends the genre. I recommend this so you can experience it. It takes around 10 minutes to complete. Maybe 15 if you read slowly.
Heart-wrenching. If you have a care for the more artsy side of the video-game medium then you should give this a go.
Очередной артхаусный эксперимент. Как и остальные демки от производителя - весьма раздражает навязчивы псевдонарратив
Yenilebilir Bir Yerin Kayıtsız Harikası, tarihten silinmeye mahkum bir kasabadaki bina yiyen birinin kuleyi tüketmesinin hikayesidir. Karışık mirasın yer aldığı yerler kasıtlı olarak silinirken, silinmenin şiddeti ve despotizmin sınırında hayatta kalmanın derin acısını irdeliyor.
I should've read the description before installing this. First of all, the game is quite boring, limited and pretentious. A blue window pops up frequently and forces you to read some Indian/Muslim poetry. Unfortunately, that didn't interest me at all. I understand that for certain people this game might be important but personally I couldn't care less.
Never felt so uncomfortable eating concrete and ceramic
