Solid game that's both simple and surprisingly in depth 8/10. Beaten the game with almost every character on hard i'm still finding new combo's almost every run and little hidden mechanics for people willing to take the time to experiment. Dashing after swinging the sword on Warrior to get out of the end lag. Using my Grapplehook on Scout and while it pulls me i fire the Scouts big wind up shot. Combo's are the coolest part of the game and with so many spells, masks and perks it looks like i'll be here a while. Only negatives are that near the end of the game it can have a lot of visual noise if i'm spamming my spells like crazy and that occasionally when you pick up a lot of gold you get some dropped frames.
Ist jetzt nicht überragend, aber auch nicht schlecht. Hat die Kernpunkte getroffen. Würde ich dafür 11€ ausgeben? Eigentlich nicht... Aber manche haben wohl mehrere Stunden Spaß damit gehabt.
Game is amazing I like that you can unlock new spells plus with all the options its hard to choose what to use I like the summoner and warrior loadouts def my favorite ones
The game is very fun, I played the demo and I'm very pleased with the buffs/changes done to the final product. For the price I don't think you can go wrong with trying this game :3
I like the art style and the available skills and attacks. However, Loosing all my levels and spells and money every single time i die, would drown me in frustration really fast. Now that being said, that is not the games fault or issue, since this IS a roguelite and that gameplay loop is working as intended. I won this game through a raffle so i promised to give it an honest shot. For people who like rogue lites in general, this game will be a hidden gem to find!!! If you got what it takes, then this game will bring you a bunch of joy :D
Leaving a short review so I can get back to this awesome game
Friend of mine is a friend of the dev so I tried the demo months ago and loved it. Now that the game is out and I get to see everything... I love it. there's more spells, more monsters, different level layouts. You can unlock perks that can be used with every build, you can unlock new spells, everything is interchangeable. I look forward to getting further in the game and seeing more bosses and areas (i also think this game could be a couple $ more expensive and I'd still buy it, it's that good)
The game is extremely fun and has many things to do like unlock perks, try different characters and builds, earn achievements, and just get to the top of the tower on multiple difficulties. But I do think there are many things to be desired like more summons, types of enemies, being able to get the mask you need more frequently so you can try builds with more success, and much more. But as a game overall it is amazing and I can't wait for future updates so I can try more things.
Well its finally out! After many beta test later we can finally celebrate on the release! The Hero of Pixel Spire is one of those games that will get you lost in trying to get a bit further then the last run, "Can I make it farther this time?" "maybe if i try a different class?" Just to switch it up and then have completely different enemys, level layouts, and spells so your plan doesn't always go as planned. I found myself enjoying all the unlocks, perks, spells, and interesting challenges. I enjoyed that even tho If I failed. When I would try again my next character would have perks to choose from that I unlocked in my last run and I felt like I actually unlocked something interesting and made progress. The Character art and levels are designed well, Each new area is different and makes you feel like you are progressing. I love The little voice acting and pet sounds all done by one person its hilarious. The Frost Biome would have to be my favourite and I enjoy the music as well. I also really like that you can see your "Stats" and see all your "unlocks" and "enemys" you have found. I know alot of work and passion went into this project. It is one of those games that can be very challenging and if you want more of a hard run you can turn the difficulty up. I will be trying to beat the game soon and at the time of review I have made it to the 4th biome but failed. I would like to say congratulations to "ThatOneUnityDev" who is a friend of mine, on his game finally being released. As a beta tester I am able to write this review undertstanding just how far this game has come, I know how many hours, and long nights have gone into the game and just how long you have been working on this project while juggling real life as well. Congratulations on finally realeasing your first real Game on steam Andrew! Take some well needed vacation time! Cheers!!!
