It's been a while since I've played this game, but I need to write a review because it's just so damn charming. I originally played the demo on itch.io when I was in school, and I fell in love with the characters and the worldbuilding (Which did change a bit if I recall, but it was for the better!) I look forward to seeing where this project goes in the future, but even now it's totally worth picking up!
Great story, Great characters, Great VN
Buy this game so your husband can come over your shoulder and ask “Why is he (Ader) so hot?”
Adorable art, adorable story, much reccomended!!!!!
Arguably, the best visual novel almost nobody has played. Clearly a labour of love and it took forever to make. It's cute, it's queer, it'll make you feel things, bad and good, and it lives up to it's inspirations. To love, is to be changed. Highly recommended for anyone willing to have a good romp!
I wanted to wait til I got through to my first ending (#3, if it gives context for those who've played), but it's easily my favorite visual novel game I've played. The story captivated me in the wonderful fantasy world. I have a soft spot for "pure of heart, dumb of ass" characters like Ader, and the whole cast either had a charming demeanor to their role or had valid reasons to be there. [strike] looking at you, Gyof (though that's just a personal preference). [/strike] Although it may not have been the route or ending I was hoping for, that's what the "save" feature is for, and the ending felt justified given the decisions I made. Some turning points felt more obvious than others, but the voice acting really conveys how the dynamics between everyone and the tone of the story - whether it's the more heartfelt comedic moments or the harsher realities of what characters like Ader, Eina, and Sep go through - and sometimes the subtle ways the story change make it feel more dynamic than picking a route in a dating sim. The Hayseed Knight is partially a romance story (largely a fantasy/adventure story), and while there are quite a few innuendos at times, but they're either spaced out to poke the joke well or to better establish chemistry between characters. Overall, it's a worthwhile experience! It was hard for me to put this story down, and I could relate so hard to the main characters in one way or another. Everyone involved worked their flanks off to forge such a gem of an experience from opening animation to ending credits, and I hope there'll be more stories like this in the future!
Must be my first ever VN with furries in it, wich's the main reason of getting it, besides the plot A fun story at most of the times, although some parts tends to be a bit of a long filler. Sure it is to make some events longer and interesting, but sometimes they over exceed Not many issues with both the translations into spanish (In my case) nor in the english version (some texts doesn't have what the voices says, probably to fit the texts into the narrating box) No visual bugs at all except for one of the endings' final cutscenes where "A hat is flying with nobody below it/wearing it".(To prevent spoilers i'll just put the environment: Inside a boat/place) Still a very nice game. It has just a little mystery to be solved but... Oh well, maybe in THK2?...
A surprisingly fun romp so far! (At about the middle of chapter 4 as of the time of this review) Characters are all a blast to be around, voice performances are spot on, and the art of course is super eye catching! Oh, and of course, a ton of the people here are hot, but if you're here, you noticed by now. I would give 700 stars and 300 moons to be in an open relationship with Ader and Sep.

English
Experience the story of Ader and everyone around him through a series of adventures and misadventures that will make you rethink a lot of things, if you pay close attention to the story being told. The Hayseed Knight is a game I’ve been waiting to play at the right time, because I knew it was a visual novel, and I tend to enjoy this type of game more depending on my mood. I had a rough idea of what the story was about, but honestly, I didn’t expect such depth, especially in the world surrounding the characters. It’s all so well put together that I’ve even considered asking for permission to use this world as a setting for a future private role playing game. To top it all off, the art is just as impressive, because honestly, every character has their own charm. I won’t name names to avoid spoilers, but seriously, each one has a special charm. The themes explored in the story are fantastic, and honestly, if anything about the story bothers you… you really need to take a good look at yourself. If you want a great story with charismatic characters, great music, and amazing voice acting, this is the game for you! !Perfect for a chill weekend spent playing with the people you care about!
