The Great Couturier

First things first, I did receive this game for free. It does not persuade my review though. the game is like $3 on sale, you cannot buy a positive review out of me LOL. N E ways.. I actually REALLY like this game! Yes, it is a bit bare bones. There is no theme for the fashion show you send your character out onto. I'd love if the devs could eventually program something like that into the game at a later point. What there is: dress up, recolor clothing items, managing money, and STYLE! When you first start your game play, you have $4 to start. I was confused by that at first but I guess it makes sense. You wouldn't just get free clothes lol. With the $4, you have to buy yourself some clothes! If you don't like the options handed to you, you can refresh your shop for $1. I think it's a neat mechanic with the cash. You have to either save your money to buy up stuff you want, or wait until you find the specific piece you want on sale. Clothing items repeat in the store and have different prices! Super neat tbh. It does seem like its mainly random for the judging. I made the cutest outfit ever and I swear the other girl on the runway was in Shrek green.. aint nooo way she won LOL. somehow she did.. Weirdly I caught myself getting way too into this game LOL. The clothing pieces and fabric designs were REALLY nice! I felt like there were tons of modern day fashion pieces which is always cool to see. I feel like some effort was put into that portion of the game! For the price of the game ($2.50 on sale or $4.99 full price), I honestly don't think it's an awful deal. Again, there isn't much to the game, but what is here, is quite nice. There aren't many fashion games on steam so at the moment, I do think this is pretty good! I favorite game so far! There should be more dress up games on Steam! Honestly! At first I didn't know much. I was just mixing up clothes, shoes and hairstyles as the budget permitted and make my model walk the catwalk. That was it, I thought. But as you keep playing, as you keep winning, a fashion bar will appear. From a simple apprentice you can become a Trendsetter. (I barely made it to Fashion Expert!) There is so much to this game than meets the eye. This is a Must Have for nostalgic fans of dress up games. Remember when we all played the Sailor Moon Senshi games? Or the ones from Y8T website (or something like that)? PROS: - Three models to choose from; - Color, patterns, clothes, shoes, hairstyles to combine; - You can buy and sell items in-game to upgrade your model's look; - Fashion bar adds a sense of progress, makes you want to try creative ideas; - Music sounds like the ones playing during catwalks; - Easy to learn mechanics. NEUTER: - Would have loved some achievements; - Hope there'll be a DLC for male models and clothing; - Once you start and go back to main menu, you will notice "Concede" under "Play". If you press that, your progress will be erased. CONS: - None for now. In conclusion, I thank my friend for pointing this game out to me. I recommend The Great Couturier to anyone! Steam, please, more dress up games in the future, okay? Thank you!

Price: Maybe for a dollar. Honestly, it gets old after a bit. Check most people's amount of time spent in the game. It's super short. It resets after each 10 rounds. You don't really feel that dopamine kick in the end. Just in the beginning. It falls short in the end for me. Decent little time killer, though, short term, and maybe upon return later in time? They could do better, In My Humble Opinion (IMHO) but, there's a demo. You can try that if you'd like. It's free. Note: I've tried this game a while back and nothing has changed. Just an FYI for ya (For Your Information) so you can be better informed. ^.^

i don't really like fashion games but this game is really fun. the way to choose clothes is interesting. and it includes a part of fun thinking about what i will buy with the amount of money i have. my experience was short but it is enough to say that it's a sweet game. but in general it needs some corrections such as the colors not matching the color application on the clothes and some of the skirts need a little careful animation if i could say so. but in general it's fun. just a few touches and it will be amazing <3 10/6.5

It's actually fun but I can't seem to give a high review or recommend greatly to others. This game just repeatingly starts over upon completion of your contest and that's all. I wish there's a story or PVP mode on this. Maybe I'll consider again in the future. I do enjoy this game, but the repeating playing just won't work for long.

This game came recommended based on my playing games such as House Flipper. With that said, I did enjoy this simple and casual game. I found myself pulled in trying to increase my rank. My only suggestion would be to include a story line or add different venues as the rank goes up to simulate the models traveling to different shows. Overall, I would recommend if you are looking for a casual, stress free fashion game. The price point is good.

At this stage, the game has limited appeal as it is. I don't regret the buy, as I want more fashion games to exist, but it's not super compelling. The biggest issue with the game imho is that the winning feels pretty lack luster/no fanfare. Same with losing. No sound/music plays differently nor does any text window pop up declaring your great loss/defeat. This makes a victory or loss feel insignificant. Next big issue is being unable to 360 view model while setting up an outfit. Smaller things: -There is a rank on the main menu from apprentice up to great courtier, which is not integrated into the game. No hint to what progression will unlock, or why a player should care about progression. -So, not all patterns will work with all colors -- some options will just up black. If there is restricted/limited color options for a pattern, it would be nice if the color was just removed instead of displaying there but displaying as black when selected. -Some layers options will collide awkwardly graphically, or fail to render. -Dupes on selection between rounds. -No record of prior outfits history. Ideas that would liven things up: -Enemy stylists who trash talk you. This would make it more engaging. Free mode vs contest mode. Contest mode has locked limited offered items to use during the contest. Stages could include themed, timed and 'free'/anything goes. Winning gets you exclusive colors/pattern/item unlock, etc. Perhaps choosing out of the items you used in the stages to win. Beating X amount of free stages puts you into contest mode. Extra reward for winning streaks, extra in-game bucks or unlocks. By rewarding wining streaks it would make starting or losing a streak more significant, thus making winning or losing more impactful. -Having more than 1 'enemy' model. -Achievements. -Hats. -Jewelry. -Different venue/background pics that are randomly used Lastly, adding the ability to sabotage the competition would be a lot of fun. (Sabotaging colors, dyes, etc).

Pros: + Simple rules + Quite relaxing + Trendy and modern outfits + Multiple models to choose from + Price Cons: - Limited selection of clothing - It’s quite difficult to reach the level of Great Couturier - No storyline in the game

⭐ Rating: 4/5 I want to start by mentioning that I received the game for free, and although fashion games aren't typically my genre, the dev team is so kind that I couldn't resist giving it a try. The game jumps right in without any guidance, but it's really not complicated. In fact, it's quite straightforward. "The Great Couturier" feels more like a mobile fashion game than a full-fledged PC game, but that's part of its charm. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it! It's a great way to waste some time and relax. If you're a fan of mobile fashion games but hate the micro-transactions that often plague them, this game is a perfect alternative. It fills that niche wonderfully without constantly asking for more money. Overall, it's a delightful experience for those looking for something light and entertaining.

Also würde es gehen, dann wäre es einen Daumen zur Mitte. Zum Vollpreis würd ich es nicht empfehlen. Es ist super einfach gehalten. Als Casual Game für 10 Min ist es ganz ok. Aber bei 40 Runden hab ich 36 gewonnen. Das wird sehr schnell langweilig. Und ich weiß auch nicht wie das bewerten eingestellt ist. Mehr Teile, mehr Farben und mehr Inhalt (z. B. selber bewerten) würde es viel besser machen.
