[th] Review by Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam. [/th]
Is this game a masterpiece? No. Plays like in Early Access. Crew members not moving, crew members not repairing a damaged system, speech bubbles popping up at most inconvenient places, not even the exit button works with a mouse click from the menu (pressing ESC works), the captain always saying "Aye, aye, Captain" and many more similar things. The idea of the game is nice, though. You take control of a tiny space ship, starting with a crew of just two. You order your crew around the ship, which consists of a few rooms and a few critical systems (engine, life support, shields, weapon turret and some more). Your crew members can operate systems, repair systems, extinguish fires, refill empty fire extinguishers and so on. Kind of nice. All systems operate fully automated, but their efficiency is higher when a human uses them. They also constantly break down, and a human is required to repair them (often having to get a required bolt/pipe/screw first). Your crew members require food and sleep and can be upgraded with enough experience. When you zoom out, you can order your spacship to fly to various locations in the space sector. Your ship can dock to another ship or space station, and you move your crew around there as well. Space combat consists of the ships shooting each other with their lasers, and there is close combat when you board enemy ships (or they board your ship). There are other characters to talk to, and there is a story to follow. You find a strange thing, and it seems everyone in the galaxy is after this thing... Conclusion: Control your tiny spaceship and small crew in a (still buggy) space adventure. Recommended, but only if they fix the bugs!

If FTL didn't exist, maybe this would have some interest. This is just FTL without the responsiveness, the cohesive storytelling, the tactics, or the love. The space-level navigation is borderline impossible, moving within the ship is pretty tricky, and combat vs another ship is a ridiculous mess. Expect your crewmembers to get stuck in walls most of the time, and have zero survival instinct. Overall I really can't recommend this game to anyone, I've absolutely no idea why the Steam page claims it is "comedic".
The game is just too buggy. I lost all my progress because all 3 autosaves have a different corruption. 1 has my ship locked in a jump gate animation and the other 2 lost the objective so I cant trigger the next mission event. I like the Humor in this game. But the gameplay loop needs more things to do, I suppose its possible that there are more things later in the game but by the time the Pluto opens there is only mining and boarding. I wouldnt know if there is anything past that. My game locked in this section. I may change this if the next major update encourages me to restart.
Fun game but too many bugs. Getting stuck and unable to move after salvaging items on ships. Trying to exit the wrong hatch when trying to get off a salvaged ship. Not being able to undock because the crew can't get off the salvaged ship.
Most of the rave and complaints of the other reviews are on spot. First part of the game is interesting. And then it grows into a part walking simulator waiting on crew members to get to places. Doesnt help after awhile you get bigger maps to walk at the speed of a snail. Bugs are pretty common. Expect to restart the game itself every once in awhile. I laughed when a "technical difficulties" screen came up with nothing working except to restart the game. Occasionally reloading a save helps. Getting out of turret in the first ship has to be done while looking inside the ship. Camera controls will fight you. Getting stuck in doorways will fight you. Quest system that feels broken at times. Several times it would be blank on what to do next so you blindly move around. My current quest to shut down projectors doesnt seem to want to advance. Couldnt interface, destroying didnt do anything. I really hope I'm at the last part of the game as its getting more and more tedious with each chapter to finish. Edit, I think I have finished the game (no quest objectives or "!" marks anywhere. Feels like a long beta with little play testing,
Game has some interesting elemetns, but very buggy, camera and controls leave a lot to be desired.
I personally thought the game wasnt very fun. The tuturial was pretty brutal in terms of being boring. Prolly not gonna play this one anymore but I'm not gonna refund for two reasons: 1) It's not THAT bad. There's potentially some Quality of life improvements that could, in theory, make this at least ok for a night or two. Someday? 2) I purchased the game at a reasonable enough price that I felt the risk of trying it was worth it. It's an indy game. If it was a 2k or EA release... different story. I could go on at length but it would just be mean. The game desperately needs a lot of help and bug fixes. For one, the game prompted me to use "X and Y" buttons incorrectly... which caused me frustration as I figured out the games wacky controls. It needs tons of stuff... especially better time manipulation controls on the fly. But def another sweep for bug fixes and problems. Its kind of tedious and boring when it's not frustrating and overwhelming. None of it is inherently bad but none of it was fun at all. For me. Your mileage may vary.
This seems to be a simple version of the bomber crew. Those others i wanted to play but died to much which caused frustration. This on the other hand i am finding enjoyment. So far so Good . So great for those who like to relax and take in the game.
The game is really buggy. The premise is good, and could be fun, but in the current state the game is in, it's low-key unplayable. I soft-locked in the tutorial because an enemy that I was supposed to kill got stuck in a wall...
A nice pleasant gaming experience
