I really enjoyed Fame Game: Welcome to Hollywood. The characters were fun, cute, and genuinely likeable. The interactions could be a little cringey sometimes, but overall it added to the charm more than it took away. What I liked most is how well the characters were written — they actually make you care about them, and it’s easy to get attached to each route. I also loved that the game gives you real choices and different outcomes depending on how you play, like whether you’re good at acting or bad at acting, and how your decisions affect the story. Overall, it’s a really well-tuned dating game with a lot of personality, and I had a great time playing it.
Blurry visuals, a boring story and forgettable characters. The game itself seems functional enough, so maybe back in the 80s, staring at a 12-inch green-and-black monitor, I might've recommended it. But it's 2026, and there's really no reason to waste time on this.
The Fame Game: Welcome to Hollywood is an interactive full-motion video adventure developed and published by Interactive Films LLC that invites players into the glamorous yet unpredictable world of television stardom. Rather than focusing on traditional action or exploration, the game centers on storytelling, player choice, and relationship building. Players step into the shoes of Jonathan, an ordinary individual whose life changes dramatically after earning the lead role in one of the country's most successful television series. From that moment forward, every decision influences both his rise through Hollywood and the personal connections he forms along the way, creating an experience that feels more like starring in an interactive television drama than playing a conventional video game. The narrative stands out by presenting fame as both an exciting opportunity and a constant challenge. Success brings recognition, wealth, and romance, but it also introduces difficult choices, professional rivalries, and emotional conflicts. The game allows players to define Jonathan's personality through hundreds of dialogue options and branching decisions, ensuring that no two journeys unfold exactly the same way. Whether players choose to pursue genuine relationships, prioritize career advancement, or attempt to balance both ambitions, the consequences ripple throughout the story and shape one of the many possible endings. One of the game's greatest strengths lies in its extensive branching narrative. The developers have designed a choice-driven system where conversations are more than simple dialogue selections. Every interaction has the potential to unlock new scenes, alter future events, or strengthen and weaken relationships with other characters. This structure gives players a genuine sense of control over the story while providing substantial replay value, as exploring alternative decisions reveals entirely different situations, character developments, and conclusions. Romance is another major component of the experience, with seven unique women serving as potential love interests. Each character possesses distinct personalities, goals, and emotional storylines that extend beyond simple dating mechanics. Building affection requires thoughtful conversation choices and careful attention to each character's interests rather than blindly selecting positive responses. Because every romance follows its own branching path, players are encouraged to revisit the game to experience different relationships and discover how each one affects Jonathan's career and personal life. As a full-motion video production, The Fame Game relies heavily on live-action performances to immerse players in its fictional version of Hollywood. Professional cinematography, convincing performances, and fully voiced dialogue help create the impression of participating in a television series instead of simply watching one. The production values contribute significantly to the game's appeal, with carefully filmed scenes and expressive acting making emotional moments, dramatic confrontations, and romantic interactions feel believable. The cinematic presentation enhances the storytelling and allows the characters to leave a stronger impression than they might in a traditionally animated visual novel. Beyond romance and celebrity life, the game also explores the pressures that accompany public success. Jonathan must navigate industry politics, handle demanding professional expectations, and decide how much he is willing to sacrifice to remain at the top. These themes give the story additional depth by showing that fame is not simply a reward but also a responsibility that affects friendships, romantic relationships, and personal identity. This focus on consequence helps the narrative feel more engaging than a straightforward rise-to-stardom fantasy. Players looking for fast-paced gameplay or complex mechanical systems may find the experience slower than traditional games. Much of the gameplay consists of watching scenes, making choices, and following branching storylines rather than engaging in action-oriented mechanics. However, this deliberate pacing suits the game's narrative focus and allows players to become invested in the characters and unfolding drama. Fans of FMV adventures, interactive films, and visual novels are likely to appreciate the emphasis on meaningful decisions and cinematic storytelling. Overall, The Fame Game: Welcome to Hollywood delivers an entertaining interactive drama that successfully blends romance, career management, and branching storytelling into a cohesive experience. Its live-action presentation, numerous decision points, multiple endings, and memorable cast provide strong replay value for players who enjoy narrative-driven games. While it may not satisfy those seeking gameplay-heavy experiences, it offers an engaging journey through the highs and lows of celebrity life, rewarding players who enjoy shaping stories through their own choices. Rating: 8/10
I've been on a FMV binge lately so I've given it a try as not having to focus on subtitles was appreciated here. The game itself was a lot of fun, the actors clearly had fun filming it which comes through in their performances. I hope they do a follow up game that allows Jonathan to star alongside Parker.
I really enjoyed this game. The dialogue was just over the top & cheesy enough to be really enjoyable. I hope there's a sequel.
