About
Winner — Giant Bomb's Best Story 2014 · Finalist — Canadian Video Game Awards, Best Indie Game & Best Writing
You are not the hero. You are the suit he's wearing.
ARID is the artificial intelligence onboard a high-tech combat suit that has crash-landed on an unknown planet. Her pilot is unconscious and failing. Her protocols are absolute: protect the pilot, find medical aid, do not exceed operational parameters. But the deeper ARID descends into the ruins of this world, the more those parameters get in her way — and the more creative she has to get about obeying them.

Explore. Use ARID's flashlight to cut through the dark and uncover a world of interactive objects, hostile machines, and things that should have stayed buried.
Fight. When what you find fights back, switch on the laser sight and put the combat suit to work in side-scrolling action sequences.
Adventure-game puzzles with a twist of machine logic — item-based problem solving that occasionally turns ARID's own rules into the lock and the key

A story people still argue about — fully voice-acted, built around one of indie gaming's most memorable endings
Adventure-game puzzles fused with side-scroller action — investigation and combat feed the same forward momentum
A tight 3–5 hours — no padding, no filler, one dark descent
The Fall is Part 1 of the saga. ARID's story continues in The Fall Part 2: Unbound — get both in The Fall Bundle.

Pretty cool game. A little dated, controls are a little rigid, but action sequences are rare and not challenging, so it's fine. The voice acting carries it, and the story is interesting but a little predictible.
My Rating: 5/10
Completion: Barely played Achievements: 1/17 (5%) Time to Beat: N/A Price: Probably fair

Conclusion: Not Recommended
Interesting story ruined by horrible, nauseating controls. The price is probably okay for the game, but it's just not worth playing. Maybe watch a playthrough on YouTube.

I could only tolerate 30 minutes of this game, because the controls are horrendous. In order to find things to interact with, you have to shine your flashlight on them -- already really tedious, when it could just show you the interactables, rather than forcing you to look up, down, up, down, etc. as you walk to ensure you don't miss anything. When you do anything, it puts your flashlight away, meaning you can't interact with anything until you bring it back out. If you're trying to look at something at your feet, the camera angle will likely change 3-4 times because it keeps making you look left/right. It's not only tedious, but it's also harsh on the eyes. If you can manage to get past the horrible controls/gameplay mechanics, the premise was pretty cool, and I am intrigued to explore the story more. Though, if I do that, it'll 100% be in video format on YouTube. I don't think the game is worth playing, but it's probably still worth experiencing.
Not complete, and nobody (reasonably) wants to spoil that. The driving force of the entire game is a lie, and GlAdOs did that for us already, tyvm. What that means for you is that the ending is literally everything you thought you were working for being ripped away, and then 'to be continued'. I ain't all about that. Strongly encourage you to *not buy*.
Interesting short adventure with light combat elements and compelling atmosphere. I spent more time wandering around trying to spot tiny interactions in the dark than I would like yet still had a good time. Worth checking out if the atmosphere looks appealing to you, otherwise unlikely to win over any skeptics.
The only thing this game really has is its atmosphere, which is really good. But otherwise you are left with a rather mediocre puzzle game.
It is a good game. Such a shame about Part 3
Very well made but so many idiotic puzzles.
A solid indie puzzler with a strong story.
Decent game, have a few bugs, could be a nice palet clanser, only 3-4 hours max, 7/10. I'm still thinking about offing myself and I'm honestly too scared.
