This is the worst game I have ever played. The motion blur is sickening and you cant turn it off. The "lightning" is just flash bangs throughout the whole game. The lighting is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The doors ONLY open. Also who the HELL is Evelyn, and when is she mentioned in game?!?! This is total doodoo buns. The ending is IN the trailer. One of the puzzles you have to either look up or brute force a code. The mirrors are a big part of the puzzles but the characters are completely black and untextured in the mirrors. The game is 6 gigabytes and i only played 50 minutes. Total unpolished unoptimized dog balls.
Nice game but runs poorly on Medium with RTX4060ti you get 38FPS!!!! Full game walkthrough https://youtu.be/ci6ZRL0Oa88
The font is completely illegible. Change it back to a normal font, please. It's all garbled and I can't understand anything at all. I'm so frustrated!!! This font is extremely detrimental to the gameplay. Not to mention the illegible and ugly appearance, the key point is that the Chinese language is all garbled. It's normal for a sentence to have only one or two characters, but 80% of the characters are garbled, making it completely impossible to understand what the text is. The developers don't even need to take a look. I'm the first one to support your game. I really want to support you, but I can't even understand the text If the production team can solve the font issue and switch to a normal font, I will change the rating to "Recommended" and continue to support it.
The Evelyn Game is a slow-burn, narrative-driven horror experience that places atmosphere and emotional weight far above spectacle or action. Developed and published by SoerGameStudio, the game invites players into the unsettling role of Evelyn, a woman returning to her childhood home after the death of her estranged mother. What initially appears to be a simple act of closure quickly becomes an uncomfortable journey through memory, guilt, and unresolved trauma. From the moment you cross the threshold of the house, the game establishes a tone of quiet dread, where the absence of overt danger feels just as threatening as any visible monster. The gameplay is centered almost entirely on exploration and observation, encouraging players to move slowly and deliberately through the decaying interior of the house. There is no combat system, no tools for self-defense, and no traditional fail states that rely on reflexes. Instead, the tension comes from vulnerability and anticipation. Every room is layered with environmental storytelling, from personal belongings and faded photographs to subtle changes in lighting and space that suggest something is not quite right. Progression is guided by curiosity rather than explicit objectives, allowing the narrative to unfold organically as players piece together fragments of Evelyn’s past. What makes The Evelyn Game particularly effective is its restraint. Rather than relying on constant jump scares, the game builds unease through implication and mood. Silence is used as deliberately as sound, with long stretches of quiet broken only by distant creaks, soft whispers, or indistinct noises that may or may not be real. This sound design keeps the player perpetually on edge, fostering a sense of psychological discomfort that lingers even during moments when nothing is happening. Lighting plays a similar role, with shadows stretching unnaturally and familiar rooms feeling increasingly hostile as the story progresses. Narratively, the game explores themes of memory, regret, and emotional repression with a surprisingly mature touch. The house serves as both a physical space and a symbolic representation of Evelyn’s mind, with rooms and objects tied to moments she has tried to forget. The story is not delivered through heavy exposition; instead, it relies on suggestion and interpretation, allowing players to draw their own conclusions about what truly happened and what is being distorted by trauma. This ambiguity strengthens the emotional impact, making the horror feel personal rather than abstract. Puzzles and interactions are kept minimal and context-appropriate, ensuring they never disrupt the pacing or atmosphere. When challenges appear, they feel like natural extensions of exploration rather than mechanical obstacles. This design choice reinforces immersion, keeping the focus on emotional engagement rather than problem-solving for its own sake. While the game is relatively short and offers limited replayability, its compact structure works in its favor, delivering a tightly focused experience that doesn’t overstay its welcome. Visually, The Evelyn Game opts for realism grounded in subtle stylization, favoring muted colors and grounded environments that enhance believability. The house feels convincingly lived-in, and its gradual transformation over time mirrors Evelyn’s mental state. Animations are restrained but effective, reinforcing the sense that the world is reacting to the protagonist’s presence rather than existing as a static backdrop. The Evelyn Game may not appeal to players looking for constant thrills, complex mechanics, or traditional horror tropes. Its strength lies in patience, mood, and emotional storytelling, demanding attention and willingness to engage with its themes. For fans of psychological horror that prioritizes atmosphere and introspection over action, it offers a haunting and memorable experience that lingers long after the final scene fades. Rating: 5/10
Love that game, the atmosphere is the strongest part here. From story to soundtrack, this game is amazing. Got goosebumps even from that little ambient on background. No glaze, this game got really interesting story, gameplay and it's fr worth to play!
Great short horror game. Camera really needs adjusting as it''s so close to the female protagonist almost like shoulder cam and because she is so tall it almost blocks the view, otehrwise I liked this game. No hiding fom monsters in cupboards but there is a monster that appears, which the game says HIDE, all you have to do is stay out of sight of it and walk around the house and the game progresses. The puzzles were good, I got the first two but the next one didnt make sense at all. Showing Pantry in the mirror? The chest had only 4 letters. I went back doiwnstairs and nothing. I was stuck on the "PANTRY" code for ages. I had to lookup the colution. The character model you play looks realsitic and the voiceover was good. I liked the horror atmosphere. The thunder and lightning was good. The end was pretty good too. I wish i hadnt got stuck on that stupid PANTRY code in the mirror. didnt make sense. The end was pretty good. If you do get this game, get it on discount as it onlyt akes 30-60 minutes depending on puzzle solving skills. recommend playing its pretty decent. Not the best horror ive played, but not the worst. Ive played a few bad horror games, this was far from bad. I liked it. It may look dark in the house but you dont need a flashlight and there isnt one anyway as its not needed. Mosttly note reading with horror atmosphere and cutscenes. Good effort from the developer :)
